| I'm no insolvency expert, but if there is administration, wouldn't the sale of the Odsal lease to cover debts owed to one creditor be a preference which may have to be unwound?
Could also get the directors into a lot of trouble?
Also, the Bulls media machine appear to be trying to blame RBS for their current predicament because of the reduction in facilities, but if the club has sold off its major asset (which may have been used as security for the overdraft) then a reduction in facilities would seem the sensible course of action by any cautious (and state-owned) lender

Clearly not.
I purchased a Bulls season ticket for £60 last year for no other reason than to help them out of their financial mess. I hardly attended any of their home fixtures.
£100? No chance. I've done my bit.

| This isn't something that has happened overnight nor in the last few months so how come they could produce a tender for a licence and have one granted.
I've read the reports about this 'current' financial crisis but nowhere have I seen what the directors, players etc are going to do to help the situation. Only seem to be asking fans and sponsors for pledges to dig them out of this mess.

| One must question the business acumen of the Board signing new players when they knew (or should have known) the dire straights the club was in.
If they do get themselves out of this mess (or someone bales them out) perhaps they will think twice about "persuading" players to sign for them when they have a condition in their contract release that prohibits this.
Why didn't the Board sell the ground to Bradford Council who could use it as a landfill site and the Bulls move into Valley Parade?
Brewery p*** up and organise spring to mind

I never argued with you. They were big games at that time (we met in a cup final and two Grand Finals in 03, 04 and 05 after all) and I looked forward to the banter with Bulls fans I knew at work. Much as with Cas and Wakey fans at work. The difference was that matches against Cas and Wakey were rarely (never) played with silverware on the line.
I don't know any Bulls fans at work now.

| I posted this on RAAB earlier this morning. To quote the late great Trevor Foster :-
"In December 1963 Bradford Northern folded. They had severe financial problems and resigned from the Rugby Football League. I was working at the time for Bradford Education Department as Schools Welfare Officer and I had access to local councillors and other influential people in the city. I felt that we couldn't let this great club die and I organised a meeting, which took place at the Bay Horse Inn at Dudley Hill. Significantly there were thirteen people at that meeting and we formed a committee aimed at getting the club re-formed."
"We met on a regular basis and gradually got support from all over the country. Eventually we called a Public Meeting at St George's Hall to see what backing we had in the city for reforming the club. Depending on the outcome of this meeting, the club would either die completely or be resurrected. At that time I got in touch with former Bradford player Joe Phillips. Joe was a New Zealander who had played for Bradford. He was a very eloquent speaker and had a great passion for the club. He chaired the public meeting and the outcome was that we raised £1000 on the night. St George's Hall was packed and gave us the backing that we needed to save the club. I then wrote to Bill Fallowfield at the Rugby Football League and asked to be included in the fixtures for 1964 and we were accepted. I still have the letter and I have been offered quite a lot of money for it but I will treasure it always! Our efforts to save the club were fully justified when 13500 people attended the opening fixture against Hull K R."

| On Sky Sports News Eddis Hemmings mentioned "Harrisgate" as a probable start of all this. Now there is a different chairman since Harrisgate and he is trying to keep the ship afloat. At the end of the day, there was money to get Harris and Morley but nothing for the players - JP, Pryce and Radford all left at the end of 2005. No doubt there were monies going in for Fat Les and Hape. A large six figure sum for Lynch - where has it all gone??? Questions do need to be answered HONESTLY by Mr Hood.
Interestingly also on Sky Sports News the Bull spokesman said that ex players had come forward to offer cash, I wonder how much Harris has stumped up?

| I would imagine you would be paid if Bradford finished the season last regardless of points reduction or administration. If they failed to finish the season and went bust then you wouldn't be paid out.

| Quote ="Andy Gilder"Interesting thought being floated on the VT, which is that the RFL decision to take the Odsal lease in exchange for funds they were owed was done in the full knowledge that the Bulls were knee deep in the mire and to protect the lease on Odsal being sold as part of any future admin/liquidation.
So if the Bulls do re-emerge out the other side of whatever awaits them in the future, they will have a sympathetic landlord with a stadium waiting for them to occupy, rather than having to move into somewhere like Valley Parade.'"
It looks like it to me and lets face it, they did this for the Crusaders, albeit they secured the debt against the ground ownership, meaning that their £750k loan was secured. The RFL are looking to ensure a future team in Bradford and they don't need to bail out the existing owners to do it!
The bigger issue for me is that currently, due to the emotions, many Bulls fans can't see that this is probably the best way forward for the club and that they should probably keep their money in their pockets! The Trinity fans soon figured this out when Ted Richardson put a similar plan to the fans and it is very hard to argue that they didn't make the right decision!

"Stuart Fielden has offered to come in and help answer the phones. Jamie Peacock has been on Twitter saying he's going to pledge £800. It is those things that will help build the momentum.

Jonesy, bog off you smart sod!! Who the fekk gave you the right to be proved pretty well spot-on correct? This really will not do, you know. Its not good enough.
The buggers rolled me good and proper, as is plain for all to see now. In particular, it now transpires that - astonishingly - they sold the bloody stadium lease, the major asset no less, without realising that this might just have a teeny impact on how the bank perceived its security going forward! You couldn't make it up!
The story as told to me and others stacked up. Or seemed to. And now we see that, at best they were being disingenuous. And maybe rather worse than that. Would you have formed the same view as I did in my place? We'll never know, obviously.
There's no wriggling out of this one. I've been made to look a fool by people I trusted. Worse, I've been made to look a fool on HERE, which is almost beyond unbearable. And its not the first time either. I was suckered over the club line over Harrisgate too, and ended up looking bloody stupid when the facts slowly oozed out. It sure as hell won't happen again. I am bloody angry.
OK, lets get this over and done with. Jonesy, you were right. Whether by luck or by insight hardly matters.
