The final was shown in HD last year but the BBC broadcast is at a lower resolution than ITV and SKY so it doesnt look as good as those two broadcasters.

As a non-Sky subscriber, who doesn't really watch much TV, I still fail to see why I should be interested in paying to get HD. I am often told that if you flick back and forth between the two you can see the difference. Ho hum. I'm unlikely to do that, and the picture quality seems fine to me as it is. I can see what's happening on sports broadcasts perfectly well on the normal telly. I don't watch a lot of action films. Again, when I do, they seem to work just fine. My TV is a miserly 32", because I don't want it to be the dominant feature in the room.

Probably by the next time I buy a TV it will be de rigeur so it will be HD, but I ain't paying extra for it. M'eh.

Just me and my old friend beer. Beer never goes to bed in a huff, never tells me to turn the TV down or do the bins and beer only has access to a small part of my finances. And beer never makes me feel guilty for not finishing it off. If I'm satisfied then beer is satisfied.

It does smell pretty horrible in the morning if you don't though....

My opinion too, we have an upgraded Virgin HD box on a 1080p HD TV - I'm totally underwhelmed by it, if the TV hadn't been HD anyway and if the Virgin box hadn't cost just £50 then I'd be even more underwhelmed and feeling ripped off.

A bloke came round and put the Sky Anytime+ on our Sky+ HD box yesterday, the amount of stuff in our anytime library now is incredible! Over 500 films, every episode of 24 and Lost ect... immense!

Yes we had a memorable trip home that day too. At one point sliding across the road from one side to the other (across the camber) while virtually stood still in the direction we were supposedly heading. Fun, fun, fun. I'm glad it was my mate behind the wheel that day.

You'll have to switch to BBC2 at half time, or set both the first and second half (on different channels) to record.


One of my mates lives in Northern Ireland, BBC2 NI isn't showing RL, so he can only watch the first half!

problem is,as I see it - we all now have too much choice - it's all too confusing for an old fuddy duddy like me !

Sky are the spawn of Satan. I hate the way they do business, and I agree that they've basically found a way of selling you stuff you've already paid for.

However... I like TV. What can I say. I'd love to not give them the money, but I'd be cutting my nose off to spite my face.

I've got no problem with people making money. Everybody is entitled to make it. I don't begrudge him in any way.

I'm more of the mindset, fair play to the man for creating such a desirable product that even the worst possible customer care doesn't stop you wanting it.
