| I do hope those talking nonsense about Sinfield interfering, also realise how now we have an assistant coach in Carr, that Sinfield is neither around Agar, or in the dressing room.

| Hmm so Powell ruled out, I’m scratching my head a bit.
My second choice was Demetriou but is he any more credible than Carr?
Maybe Carr gets the top job and a new assistant comes in, if we finish the season well.

| Agar deserves a lot of credit for our turnaround in recent weeks. We at least look like a team again. The spirit shown tonight was outstanding, and he has done a great job to rekindle that. The players are definitely playing for him and giving their all. Not something that you could say during Furners short reign.

We look like a totally different team (in some respects we are) Agar and Sinfield deserve a lot of credit IMO

| Our attack still isn't good enough, but Agar has at least sorted the defence and attitude out, but he's not the person to take us to the next level.

| So is it Sinfield rooting out the bad apples which has improved morale in the camp?
Or Agar improving the organisation and effort in the team, or a combination of the two.

Obviously both, both go hand in hand. I do think the biggest change to be fair, maybe wasn’t the intention. But Watkins going as captain was a big changer. As soon as it was announced was the moment others stepped up.

| On the subject of captains I thought Merrin came across okay on TV after the game last night. Without being ITK I get the feeling captaincy will benefit the growth of the team as well as his own game, and if this wasn't in the planning when he was brought across its certainly worked out well in my view.

I also think Watkins going was a clear message to squad shape up or you're gone no matter who you are.

Yeah, clearing out some big name players has made us step up. The likes of curhberson, ferres and myler have to step up or be shipped out

| The team is better balanced with Lui at 6 instead of Sutty but it's the change in attitude and willingness to defend mistakes and penalties which is the biggest change. We can talk about structures and systems but sometimes defence is just about throwing your body at someone and stopping them and too often this year that wasnt happening for whatever reason.
The signing of big Ava has made a difference too. Hes pretty solid defensively and does a good job all round. Good solid prop and is exactly what the team needed.
Merrin is top class. A really top player and the one player in this team that would've walked into the title winning teams weve had over the years. A really magnificent forward in my opinion. A true pro and just seems to a good bloke too. Easy to see why the club wanted him. Strong as an ox and grafts his nuts off in the middle of the park. As you may have gathered I'm a Merrin fan, hes won me over.
I also want to praise young Harry Newman. A special talent. People tell me you cant put kids into a struggling team well young Harry has thrived and defensively was superb last night. Hes got better and better and is proof that if you give kids a go they will figure it out. Agar said he could be Leeds centre for next 10 years and that's ok with me.
Let's not go overboard tho the team is still a fair way off where it needs to be and Cas made a seasons worth of handling errors last night which helped. Were currently 9th and that's not good enough for Leeds but there are signs were getting there and with a couple more additions in the off season we will be a different team next year.

| Presser from Agar on the website is interesting - he talks about the permanent position a few times and never rules himself out which he was doing a month or so ago.

| Agar definitely deserves to stay on as a coach or assistant. He's clearly got some man management skill because the effort by the lads has improved night and day. Yesterdays defence was great to see.
But I don't think he should stay as head coach, at the minute we're benefiting from the caretaker manager boost that lasts a few games then eventually runs out like Solskjaer at scum.

| Agree with what everyone has said, Agar and Kev have done a tremendous job turning this team round. I know Kev has been criticised but he came in and gave people a go - it didn't work out and he's acted on it.
For me, we still need to sign a proper head coach to take us forward. Whilst Agar has steadied the ship and instilled some pride in the shirt again, I don't think he's the man to get us back to the top. However, given what he has done, there must surely be a place for him on the coaching staff, maybe defensive coach

I think these days it’s more of a team coaching effort; the one fag smoking bulldog at the top model is a bit old fashioned.
To be fair to Agar again, the team was shot to pieces and you would start with attitude and defence. Putting fancy set plays on is just not where we’ve been at.
He’s said a few times he’s just tried to simplify things for players, and probably remove some pressure. We could have a good season under him and Carr next year, given one or two more key signings.

Agree with all that.
It’s still early days in fully assessing the new players but to me it seems we may possibly have replaced Peacock & Leuluai (as much as you ever reasonably could) with Merrin & Ava?
We’re still lacking a Sinfield & McGuire replacement but if Myler continues with the same desire as last night I’d keep him. That kind of determination and desire wins you stuff.

| I'll be watching Myler and Cuthbertson closely this next few games. We shouldn't fall in love with them for a couple of good performances when they've generally been missing in action all year. Myler's end of set options have been terrible and his kicking game awful all year. I don't think he offers enough going forward either. I can't argue with how he's been playing since Lui came in however.
I guess all we do know for sure is that some of the changes seem to be working, and at the moment it looks less likely we'll be left standing when the music stops!
