Super League game postponed due to a bit of sleet... aww bless!

We do to Cas and Hudds so I don't see why not to yours. In general, over the years, I'd say its normally a 60/40 split.

can't understand why its been called off or possible more to the point why the call was made at 10 this morning.
barely any snow around the ground this afternoon, it did start again later on but wasn't settling.

But there doesn`t look like there`s that much snow around.
I seem to remember playing in Wales when the snow was much worse .
That was on SKY and it went ahead.
Maybe Tim Smith will be fit for Sunday

There's loads up here in Pudsey but I went to Leeds earlier and it was like it hasn't even snowed. Wakey may have been similar to up here. Snow games have been called off on sky before though although It was a while back.

Hardly anything on York Rd, Crossgates or Colton.
Anyway it is off now so we will see how we go on Sunday.
Hopefully BMcD will rotate the pack now with 3 games in 8 days.

That's what I'm saying though. I live 10 miles away from there yet there's probably 5 inches on the roads and its still coming down. You can never tell.

I doubt it will be because of injured players returning, from what I have seen on Twitter AG wanted the game to go ahead, Why would we want to post-pone a game when we have one a few days later? Surely we would want the maximum recovery time as possible just like every other team. Surely by the weather you have seen tonight you have understood why the game has been called off. Even if it was at 11AM this morning atleast they got it right.

Looking at the amount of snow we had overnight and the forecast for the rest of today, I would be amazed if this game goes ahead tomorrow

Got to agree, especially if the local authorities prove to be as inept as they have been in the last 24 hours. The main Leeds to Otley road was treacherous by 10pm last night and as I look out of the window there's 7 or 8 inches of snow covering the road . Spectator safety will see this game off even if they do manage to clear the pitch tomorrow.

Peter Smith has tweeted that Wakey are looking for volunteers to clear the pitch - take your own shovel!!

Both terraces were closed at Langtree Park last night because of the weather. It was sub 10k at Warrington as well.

Cancelled again.

I maybe harsh here but every other game as gone ahead this week I get the feeling wakefield have not tried hard enough

They say on twitter it has been called off due to unsafe conditions around the ground. There could well be nothing wrong with the pitch.

The problem may be a frozen pitch. They had volunteers down yesterday who cleared the pitch but it was -3 over night and isn't expected to get much above freezing today. If that's the case then fair enough.

TBF, on another forum a Wakey fan said he lives a mile from the ground and there's a foot of snow in places so that's a good reason too

Wakey have tried hard enough to get the game on, they got the whole pitch cleared of snow and got volunteers down this morning to help clear terraces and around the ground, it's the match commissioner that has called the game.
However I would say the game should have gone ahead friday but a total postponement defo suits both Wakey & Leeds, only 4 days until Leeds next game and 5 days to wakefields, I think probs benefits both team IMO


Also Wakey have offered a full refund to anyone who can't make the rescheduled fixture or an exchange on their ticket (not that there would be many other wakey fixtures that a leeds fan would go to)

I say it every year, but I don't care about the cup. It'd suit me to get knocked out early to free up a couple of weekends to get the league matches in. Last thing we need is 2 midweek games near the end of the season and a cup run.

Wakefield more than happy to play the game later in the season when their injury problems might be less severe.
