To be fair the "improvements" we've seen in terms of effort desire Team spirit etc are "Non negotiable Standards" of a top class sporting Club are they not?

Let's just get this season oved safely then start afresh in 2020 . I cant see it being Agar ,but if the team with these new player's start to vet some good results it may be like that Man Utd old player came in to steady the ship and gets a deal.

Its amazing how often clubs in multiple sports jump in to offer coaches long term deals after shining in a few early games. Agar hasn't even done that yet - aren't we 3 from 7 under him?

He is doing what is expected bare minimum. He still has a decent enough squad of players who despite being nowhere near a team challenging for honours should not be in a relegation scrap.also been backed with these mid season transfers which has helped lift the place a bit.

I personally would be mortified to see Agar handed a deal as head coach for next season. Until it is announced by the club i am still holding the belief someone is lined up already and will be announced in due course.

I think we need to draw a line under this year and start again with a new coach. Always a risk but I'd rather we go for the best we can, not just the last man standing at the club.

Logically, in a salary capped sport your signing that has the most impactful is the coach. A bargain basement choach will ruin a championship team. A quality coach can make some also rans look easy better than they were.

KS is working over the back office team as well as playing squad. Another voice on the coaching staff can’t be a bad thing.

With Carrs temporary appointment and the statement from the club that it is only to the end of the season so the new coach can pick his own team it would appear that they are either in talks or still looking

Yeah was extremely glad to hear that mesen. Clearly they're looking for a new head coach and Agar won't get the gig full time.

If Leeds bolt it and make the 5 this year we might see Agar put in the frame but it does sound as if all parties are expecting a change for 2020.
Agar would know that if he took the head coach position he's immediately on the sacking clock: with a back room role he can stay long term with greater security.

It's possible but I'd expect us to go for someone with more provenance.

You would imagine KS has quite a clear idea of what good and bad looks like in a head coach, I'm backing him to get it right in the end. Furner might have been a mistake for whatever reasons, but KS made the call on it and took the hard decision when needed.

I suspect the Agar appointment was not Furner's decision. Who knows, had they worked better together we might now be watching a side capable of both attack and defence.

Or neither.....

In fairness, Agar was never supposed to be involved in first-team coaching and would have minimal involvement with Furner and the first team until James Lowes left.

I'm not sure Furner would or should have any involvement in deciding appointments for largely back-office roles.

It won`t be Powell as he has signed an extension to 2022.
