| YEP reporting were still looking at Jai Field as well surely he won't be brought in this season we are still light in the pack, maybe next year with possibly T.Briscoe leaving and if Evan's doesn't work out .

I'm pretty sure this is just Leeds/Bradford exploiting a bit of a loophole in the system.
You can only have 5 loaned/dual reg players in your match day 17. One way to get around this restriction is for the lower tier club to 'permanently sign' a player, usually on a short contract. Just like DWP did a few days ago.
Dan is, strictly speaking, a Bradford Bulls player now and we will hold his registration. He won't count on the loan tally. But don't be surprised if Leeds re-sign him some time in the near future. If the same happens with Mustapha then I suspect it may be a similar arrangement.

| Leilani Latu has been offered to super league clubs, he's only 26 and when he was at Penrith Panthers he looked a real good prop he's been at titans last couple of seasons and his form has dipped don't think he was playing for them week in week out, but he could be the sort of prop we need to complete out squad he plays a bit like Cuthbertson did when he first came over good ball handler and a solid offload game but think he has a bit more toughness and grit than Cuthbo, wonder is were interested in him if we can sort a space on our overseas and quota spots

Not sure we should be using another quota spot on a front rower as we already have Prior.
I think we are missing a top quality winger now. Handley is just ok. Briscoe is at the fag end of his career now and seen much better days.

Would be an interesting player, was excellent for penrith, came through at the Bulldogs with Klemmer and was the more highly rated of the 2 according to the Aussie cometators. Hasnt been great for the Titans but could say that for nearly every player that goes to the titans

Personally don't think we should be going for another winger this season and can't see us doing so either, we signed Evans for a reason to cover winger while T.Briscoe recovers and L.Briscoe is also a back up winger so this season we have 4 wingers. Let's see what T.Briscoe is like coming back from injury then go for a quality winger if nobody in academy is ready to step up. We are still light in front row with only Seumanufagai, Prior, Cuthbertson( surely it's his last season), Oldezki and Crosby( under a injury cloud ) who are ready to be in 17 each week if any of them suffer a long term injury will be stuck with using Donaldson at prop again and be even lighter and not able to make yards and win rocks in games, I hope we are in for Latu could be really good for us.

| Perhaps the club have irons in the fire with regards to our Wingers moving forward and hence why we currently are well short of quality out wide and also why we signed Evans on loan for this season as cover?
I wouldn't be surprised to see Ryan Hall back at the club,If only for a season or 2 after his Aussie experience has concluded
I also wouldn't be surprised if another play is not made for Tom Johnstone (When he returns from injury) despite him currently being under contract at Wakey.
I was told that we tempted Wakey with a very good offer prior to him signing his new improved contract but that they resisted on that occasion
These 2 would IMO be a massive upgrade on what we currently have (IF both were fully fit)

| He was a very good prop for Penrith between 2015-17 and played for Tonga as well, he went to Titans for 2018 and 2019 but struggled for form but so has every player for them over the last 3 or 4 seasons he only managed 9 appearances for them in two seasons but that due to him falling out of favour with the Titans coaches.

| We have two very good starting props. Mick looks good pre season cuthbo solid and when we have injuries we have Cosby, muzzy and holroyd. I think of injury strikes we are weaker in the back row now Not sure we need to be spending big money on another prop. I must admit not been a big fan of of cam smith but have been impressed in pre season.
For me we need a quality winger if I was going to be spending money

| Luke Briscoe is in the Fev squad for the pre-season game at Hull KR. Whether this means Leeds are going with Newman on the wing, or whether they just want Luke to have a run-out from a fitness point of view, who knows.
Tom Holroyd & Muizz Mustapha are also in the Fev squad (even though Holroyd is also in the Leeds squad) as are O'Connor and Broadbent. Corey Johnson isn't. That might shed some more light on imminent moves to Bradford, but then again it might not!

| What's the views with all the time Newman is getting on the wing?
I thought he was decent enough against the bulls (mid level championship team for me) but I thought he was making good progress in the centres in what was a very difficult debut season.
I get giving sutty a run out but surely with Rhys signing he and not sutty is our back up centre?
If we feel we need a new winger then get one, don't try shoehorn a young kid in.

Same as yours. Why sign Evans to provide wing cover only to disrupt the ongoing development of a decent centre? And if Sutty's as indispensable as Agar seems to believe, stick him on the bench.

Looks like Evans is in front of Luke Briscoe as he’s in the squad for Sunday but Briscoe isn’t.

But Evans isn’t a winger. He used to be a winger, not since. Hence the underwhelming comments on his announcement. He will spend more minutes in the backrow come the season start than he will elsewhere.
As for Newman on the wing, completely stunts his development. It is a combination of having weak options there, and the clubs obsession in finding a spot for Sutcliffe no matter what.
I personally think Sutcliffe as looked good in the two games so far, but that doesn’t really excuse the stunting of others. Really, if the obsession was to keep Sutcliffe we shouldn’t have brought Mellor in, as they are almost like for like backrowers anyway.

Really don't know why people are getting all upperty over Newman playing on the wing, some very very good centres and players started out on the wing learning the game better before moving back into their natural posistion, it will help him become a better player without the extra pressure and don't see how it will stunt his develepment by playing half a season or so on the wing, and the side looks more balanced with Sutcliffe and Martin playing inside him. He will end up back at centre before long.

Neither of them were established centres at that point either. So not sure of the point.
There have been plenty, absolute plenty, of potentially great wingers in the game, who never progressed due to confidence and reputation pulled to pieces. Wing is a high confidence position. So why risk potential of someone natural to another position going through that?
If he was a winger he would have been playing that in his debut season, not first choice centre, which he should be.
Right now though, as said we have no other choice there, hence shunted to the role, rather than right for the role.
