| Most of them have looked awful under 3 different coaches. Its pretty clear the players are the vast majority of the problem.

| The players and the coaching has been a problem along with recruitment . The show me the money agent stated he would send his clients to Cas because Powell would improve the player where as Mac would not . Hence Joe average players are seen to become better there than they have at the Rhinos . Whether or not Furner can improve anyone is yet to be seen .

Agreed - however bad the coaching might be (and I don’t necessarily think it is or was so bad), the experienced players have no excuses for the lazy performances of the last few seasons. They need a long hard look in the mirror (and some P45s).

| A model of how to recruit the correct way is Warrington. You have a basic squad of good players (both recruited and academy) and are constantly adding QUALITY players to the roster.
A great example in contrast with the Wolves and Rhinos is the closed season recruitment of a half back. We sign Tuimoala Lolohea and they sign Blake Austin. Or in other words, a gamble versus proven quality.
Danny Buderus was an example of us getting it right,

Neither have Cas under Powell. Leeds have to find their own way (again). There are still people around the squad who know what it takes to win the big games - but we need to build a decent squad first.
Probably the worst thing that happened to this team in the last 5 years was winning the 2017 GF. Yes, it was great at the time, but it was also just about one of the poorest grand finals ever, and seriously papered over the deficiencies of our team, especially with McGuire leaving - the main reason we won the GF in the first place.

Can't see them getting shot of Furner unless he wants to go and rightly so. It's a big job turning this mess around and as bad as it's been so far he deserves a fairer crack than half a dozen games, let him weed out the garbage and the last of the golden generation and bring in his own players I also don't think Wane would be a good fit for us. The style of play, bleeds red and white. Respect him as a coach but No thanks

I believe he means it in the context of it sucking the club into the thinking all was well at that point when it clearly wasn't and it has set us back a few more seasons for it. Yes of course winning the GF was great and how we did it but it was more down to the cards falling perfectly.bit like Saints 2014

| Absolutely no one is surprised we've had to rebuild our squad. No one.
Fairly certain even when we won it in 17' folk knew we were losing legendary players and we're more than likely to not be challenging for a couple of years.

We let Mags go too early for me. We needed his leadership and kicking game to see us through this transition period.

| Would take Wane or Shaun Edwards today - both know how to win and they are ruthless - that`s what we need. It might not be pretty at times , but at the moment , we cannot afford pretty - we need results.

Flanagan is available and the best coach out there available no question. You wouldn't look at Wane and Edwards over him.

| I think we’ve shown more zip in attack under Furner than I’ve seen from Leeds for some time. The defensive issues seem more to do with individual competency - one on one misses, failing to contest the ball etc.
If you’re losing it’s easy for the finger of blame to come out, but personally I haven’t seen enough to put Furner in the roasting tin.
If you change a boat load of staff in one go, you’re going to lose control of the culture too, which can be a toxic mix if you’re under pressure like we are.
I was afraid that the hope of the new recruits and new season would be shadowed by memories of last year and doubt in ability, and that’s happened.
I expect the playing squad, quality and balance, will be much improved next year assuming we are still in the top flight. I am more patient than most but I don’t think we should be changing the coach yet unless there are significant behind-the-scenes issues.

| Assuming the list of players the club wanted rid of was right and hasn't changed, anyone still on it should be sent away on loan. I can't imagine anything more potentially toxic than having someone in that position at work.

The only thing not right is arrogance, arrogance that runs through both clubs. Nothing more than that. When realisation sets in, it will be different and quickly.

| Leeds are probably paying the price now for arrogance during the successful years. There are so many variables to success, and it’s a slow moving oil tanker of a thing to change.
Being positive, through whichever means we do seem to have sorted out academy recruitment for a couple of years now, and McLelland and Walters look top signings for the future. Juniors don’t always translate to open age but I can see eight or nine additional academy products playing first grade in the next few years, if we can keep the wheels on in the meantime.
I don’t see any reason why a handful of the Leeds academy players who played for England can’t make it to full international honours.
Bottom line is that our squad simply isn’t good enough; I don’t think we have a single current player in an international team (Watkins being bang out of form and Ward perennially injured). Not one of our players is featuring in MoS mix. Most weeks the three players selected are all from the opposition.

| Trying to remain positive and after Friday night it is becoming harder to remain positive, but after 6/7 games into the season still playing Rugby in winter (I thought it was summer Rugby) and numerous changes to both the Coaching team and the playing team we need to show some empathy to the team. Three players and the coach travel over from OZ in their mid summer to Leeds in the middle of winter, more time is needed for these guys to gel and to start the team moving forward. It is a much bigger job than anticipated, just look at the personal who have left over the last 3/4 seasons, and still I like others expected a much better team performance, some poor decisions regarding the team has been made, but on the other hand I have started to understand why the likes of JJB and Ablett were awarded another contract. give them another 6 games see where we are then, once the weather warms up and the grounds harden I think we will start to see a different approach from the team.
Speaking to a Director on Friday after the game if you think they are happy with the situation they are not and they are trying all in their power to turn this around, this is becoming a massive effort from all concerned to make us successful again.

| I’d be looking for an old fullback. I’m a massive fan of walker but I’d say his organisation of the team in defence is poor. Not that it’s all his fault, but I think he contributes to it. Give him someone to work under for a couple of seasons and he’ll be awesome.

I think if you brought in another FB Walker would walk. He has quite a high opinion of his ability and he's not going to wait around being blocked, especially not with the agent in his ears.
I don't have a problem with the younger lads learning on the job a bit, we should give them time. Walker has been rocks and diamonds a bit this year (his performance at Wigan was a shocker), but when he's on his game he's still MoM standard even with his shortcomings. Problem with him I think is that as soon as he's matured he'll be off to the NRL and leave us.
You're right that Walker has a lot of improvement left in his game - the exciting thing is how good he could be in another few years.
Again, amid all the other issues our squad has, for me Walker is way down the list.
