This Leigh side isn't - IMO - as good as the 2015 one. The SL sides heading into the Super 8s are - again, IMO - of a higher quality and in better form than the 2015 versions were.

That indicates to me that the chances of an upset are lower than they were in 2015.

I foresee a combination of cup final mentality in our opposition and our lack of leadership & non existant halfbacks being a massive problem in the middle 8's.

If the championship teams treat leeds as any sort of cup final it will be to the detriment of all the other games which could damage their promotion chances. Theres 7 games and good results will be needed in large amount. So I guess effectively 7 cup finals.

All leeds can do is go into them in good form with a healthy squad, and treat every game as a high stakes super league contest. If leeds can beat hull away from home who have been at the top then they can beat Leigh. No matter how many leigh fans are coming over all billy big bollox.

All season people on here have been babbing themselves about the middle 8's. So don't presume to tell us about anything. Waddle off.

Remember the challenge cup two seasons ago when you had the super dooper players that you lost this year. Hence your reason for being at the bottom of the league. And you were going to give all kinds of lessons to Leigh, only for you to steal it with a late try and DROPGOAL and some very dubious ref decisions. Dont get too far ahead of yourselves. It could bite you on the bum. If you beat us fairly then there won't be any complaints from me. But if you get the same help as in the cup by a ref then that will smell a bit corrupt. Anyway good luck with it all, you may just need it

Remember last years Challenge Cup when you beat Salford and Wakefield.....how did it go against those teams in the Middle 8's?

You'd have thought after last year that Leigh fans wouldn't be so eager to pipe up on opposition boards telling them to watch out for Leigh.

And if we lose to leigh and win all our other games we'll avoid the million pound game. Theres 6 other teams and games beside leigh, and leeds need to watch out for them all. So quit babbling on about leigh, take your over inflated sense of self importance and toddle off.

Logic would dictate that you should annihilate us (Leigh) Our backs aren't as quick as last season, but our pack is 100% better than last time around and players have been employed much better, with sensible rotation. That should mean that we go into the 8's fully fit, with the exception of Willie Tonga, who has only managed two forty minute spells in the entire season.

Yes, everything points to a Leeds win, but you will have a heck of a job on your hands, subduing our pack.

Thing is nobody knows yet when this game will take place or where. Home advantage will make a difference and it could take place in the first week or it might be the final week and one or both teams might have already sealed a top 3/bottom 3 finish......and whilst both might be looking promising in terms of being injury free ATM, several weeks time can be a long time in that regard.

Yeah but we had nearly as many injuries as your lot have this year. I say nearly cos we couldnt have had as many cos no one ever has

Oh well, Leigh will definitely thrash leeds, will gain promotion and then win the treble next year and leeds will cease to exist.

So HKR officially confirmed in the Middle 8's after tonight's loss. If we can win tomorrow night it'll more than likely set up a winner-gets-4 home games match vs KR the following week.

Yep, they're a right laugh. We (Wakefield) had the pleasure of them perpetually camped on our board all last season. Enjoy.

You'd have thought they'd have learnt from last year wouldn't you. Spent so long telling the likes of Wakey and Salford what a rude awakening they were in for yet finished dead last and lost to two of their Championship rivals.

The irony lost on them that they come to scold people for being cocky/confident and then proceed to confidently and cockily pronounce how teams are in for a rude awakening when they play Leigh.

If their hope is that the SL teams will be complacent in their approach/attitude then they'll be sadly disappointed. This isn't a one off cup game with potentially 'bigger fish to fry' the weekends either side of the game and later on in the year. This is about keeping a place in SL with nothing left to play for after the conclusion of these 7/8 games and if a SL team does go down it won't be because they got too complacent about the task ahead.

Leigh fans will say if the Leeds team shows the same cockiness that some of their fans do they'll be in for a shock. Well if the Leigh team share the same obsession of their fans of claiming certain SL scalps for bragging rights then they'll end up getting beaten by other Championship clubs again....Leeds will treat every game the same, as 2 points. Leigh fans seem to think beating Leeds will be worth more which it won't be if they slip up in other games because their minds were too focused on the Leeds fixture. Like I mentioned before, the Leeds/Leigh game might end up being played in the 7th and final week, and if so a lot of rugby to be played before then for that game to even count for Leigh.

Lets face it though. Leigh are one place below Leeds in the over all league structure as it stands. So if we happen to beat the club above us so what? But say Leeds were six or seven places above Leigh then that would be kind of a big deal. Perhaps we should just wait and see what happens when you come across to to play at our place

Perhaps you should. Perhaps if you had taken your own advice at first instead of starting your WUM posts you did a few pages back, then WE wouldn't be talking about Leigh as, in case you hadn't noticed we are not bothered about you

As a Leigh fan i just want us to beat the 3 other champ teams and hopefully target 2 of the 4 sl teams as the best chance of taking point off,Leeds wouldn't be one of those teams.

I did actually state that there are seven other clubs in the comp and never once said that Leigh were just concentrating on Leeds and my original post just meant that no club whether it be super league or championship will just roll over and gasp just cos they are playing Leeds. Like I said wait and see. And heres hoping to a exciting competition. Good Luck to every club involved.
