| I think the problems have been caused by HKR giving out loads of free tickets to local schools to get the attendance up. I was under the impression that the new stand was for away fans, It seems we have only been allocated 2 or 3 blocks of seats for the game. Its a shame because I bet Leeds could have sold that end out!!

The free tickets are for the south stand. There are about 900 seats allocated to away fans in the new North stand.
Also the West stand well standing area can hold around 600 fans. More than enough for most of the away teams that visit.
The sections R and O are the away fans allocation in the North stand behind the sticks. I think it is still possible to buy North stand tickets off the Hull KR website. The stand has 2 bars in the fully enclosed concourse area behind the seats

The school children have been allocated the South Terrace, the end that everybody moans about. It is part of a sponsorship deal with the school.
The North Stand was never intended as purely an away end. One third of it is allocated to away fans with the remainder to sponsors, general sale and a family section.
Any Leeds fan who wants a ticket will get one, either through your club for the Well or via Rovers for West or North Stand seats.

The tickets given away are for the Zeebrugge end that wouldn't have been used anyway. Why do Leeds fans want to stand on a terrace a mile away from the pitch when there are still tickets available in the New north stand, The well area and seating in the main west stand?

| OK I'm in Block A - Row E.
Judging by the picture above I'm guessing that'll be the seats to the left somewhere near the front.
Quick question, which seat will Sherlock be in?

| Very little of the info on here tally's up with the info from Headingley , why Leeds were not given the full allocation of the new stand (we may have filled it) and sent any unsold back i can't work out . Not many Leeds fans wil want the dubious pleasure of mixing with the home fans

Can't see block A. Blocks V and E look the best ones though.

| Just bought three tickets in seats they have had a new allocation in this morning from Hull and they have almost gone she told me over the phone. Allocated in section F, I don't know why they mix up the supporters it's the first time I have been to KR since my greyhound raced there 20 years ago ! Never been a fan of going to either Hull club because there's always been trouble when I have been. Hope things are better and the new stand increases the crowds at KR and also attracts more away fans which I am sure it will.

| Went over to the shop this morning and got 4 tickets for the north stand section f also. Was told then they only had about 20 left for the north stand from what was sent over from Hull. They do have plenty left for the 'well' on the west stand, It does seem odd we have been allocated tickets in 2 separate areas of the ground!!

I can honestly say I have not seen trouble for years.
When they were building the north stand last season plenty of Leeds fans stood in the East stand without any trouble.

Problem Hull Kingston Rovers have is that many away teams won't fill that stand which holds 2600, Rovers knowing that split it into 3 sections, The R & O are designated away section whilst the V & E are on general sale from rovers. The other R & S is a designated family section. It would have been daft for Rovers to build an £8m stand and not sell season passes for it to home supporters as it's the best seated stand in the ground. Think Rovers have split it correctly with the option of more seats for the away club if they sell initial allocations.

If you want a nice meal I'd recommend Stanley's Brasserie, directly opposite your hotel, if you're going for a beer, give the immediate area, known as the New Town a miss, and either walk a couple of minutes to the old Town (more or less Whitefriargate onwards) or jump in a taxi (plenty outside your hotel) and head to the Princes Ave area (probably only a couple of quid) but it will be quite busy.

Mother flipper! I went up very early Saturday morning and specifically asked if they would be getting any more seats to be told no! We are stood under the seats. I'm going back up there tomorrow to book transport. I'm going to try and swap our tickets for seats.

Definitely the old town if you want a decent pint.
The Lion and key or Hawks bar are probably the best two for the real ale drinkers imo.
Ye old white hart if you like a bit of nostalgia thrown in with your pint, don't worry about the Skull in the glass case looking at you while you supp your ale.

| I'd favour the Old Town myself. Princes Ave area is nice enough, some decent boozers, but it's not different from simlar parts of any other city. Hull's old town has a great choice of realy nice old pubs doing good beer, which is less easy to find these days.

Hardly any away teams take 2600 travelling fans to a regular season game. Fans of many clubs will tell you otherwise. But they're either lying or horribly misguided. FC might for the derby. Nobody else would fill that stand, including Leeds, so I'd say Rovers have got it about right. It's hard to count because League fans don't need segregating, and lots don't buy through their own club's ticket offices, but I doubt Leeds (who have more away fans than most) take more than 1500 fans over the M62 very often.

Too far to walk from station, but buses run from the adjacent interchange, not sure which or when, but Id imagine they will be pretty regular due to it being a fairly large estate around the ground, I'll look it up when I get a minute and post before next weekend.

| So if we have sold out "R", "O" and nearly sold out "S" plus a fair few in the Well, we could be looking at a good 1,500 tickets sold. That's not too bad for a trip to KR to be fair.

Trains are not very frequent on a Sunday. Direct ones from Leeds to Hull at 10.22 and 13.01, and they take pretty much bang on an hour to get there.
As for getting to the ground, if there are a few of you, id look at a taxi (particularly if you get the 13.01 train). It cost us £8 from the train station to the ground last year, and is probably easier than trying to find your way on the bus.
