If he's turned down a deal to stay, Hull may have already allocated that money elsewhere and it's not possible to spend it twice - as I keep being told - not that I let that stop me.

I hear the same thing as happened as last year with Manu. We made an offer (a very good offer), agent goes and sees what else there is and it comes to May 1st, we withdraw the offer. The players comes back to us to sign to find out the money has already been allocated, and we have a prop and a back rower signed up (rumours of Keith Galloway and Jordan Thompson from Cas)

And I'm guessing it won't have come from anyone in charge at Headingley unless the rumours of a high profile departure/s have some substance in which case Briscoe could feasible be some form of peace offering - but even then I'd be surprised not when they have Joe Vickery doing such an outstanding job. Leeds as a rule aren't interested in importing expensive players let alone the type who frequent the wing position. |

BJB contract is up this year or next so would make sense timing wise, still prefer to see some signings in the pack, but with Briscoe's brother having that Leeds connection then maybe it's closer to a done deal |

Even if we do retain both and add Tom Briscoe to the threequarters it only means one more classy back wasted owing to an inability to get the ball anywhere near them. I saw that and didn't really think anything of it, Sinfield always used to say the same thing about a possible move to RU. If he goes at the end of his contract then he'll be 28/29. We'll have had the best years out of him by then. |
