Loz, the reason he didn't go for the 1st one, and rightly so, was because the Catalan player was falling. He went in for a big tackle on both occasions and they were mis-timed. Neither, IMHO (and I'm no Bailey lover) were red card offences.

For me the 2nd one was awful, intent and late IMHO

Are you serious - the second one was pure thuggery - the fact his right arm didn't connect has saved him 5/6 matches - watch the video again

Great performance ,courage determination and kept cool when it looked like Catalan were getting on top.
All I want from referees is to be consistent ,so next time I see a similar tackle to bailys one would expect a red card.
Unfortunately it won't happen as it will be put on report or a penalty awarded. Just for the record I did not think it was a red card. Catalan had at least three head high shots on us, totally unpunished .

Appalling display by Catalans who clearly underestimated Leeds due to their poor preparation.

Today has been a poor advert for the credibility of SL.

I was sat with an ex pro who hates Bailey and even he said it wasn't a sending off. I have seen worse not given the red. The initial impact looked shoulder into the head.

Which in itself is against the rules.....

Come on Sal, there was no difference with the 2nd one and what the Catalans player did with Burrow in first half.

The ref said he made contact with the head and sent him off. The ref was wrong on making contact with head.

The first Bailey one was worse, but mainly due to the Catalans player falling, like Harrigan said.

I hope these exchange of views does not take the thread away from what was a superb performance,to win a match like with the penalty count against us and a man off was remarkable.

Totally needless and a bit of a cheap shot on a player unable to defend himself (the one he was dismissed for). You're always going to run that risk with that type of challenge.

That said, I hope the disciplinary looks at the incident where Mounis slammed Sinfield's head into the ground - potentially very dangerous and I felt there was intent there.

Not trying to take away from anyone's enjoyment; a scruffy, ill-disciplined performance but our spirit was utterly magnificent I thought. Happily settle for that level of effort.

The sending off was a poor decision.

Sending off was marginal, and certainly no worse than the one in the first half that he gave away a penalty for.

Certainly no worse than the Taia swinging arm on Achurch which copped him straight on the jaw and didn't even merit a penalty.

outstanding result tonight but to back up brian mac's comments i do think that we are not getting the rub of the green with the refs ,i know we were no angels tonight but we missed out on quite a few penalty appeals none more so than the tackle on achurch but if bailey deserved a red my mind goes back to the bradford game and the spear tackle on jjb ? all we ask is for a level playing field !

That's two myths laid to rest this evening:

1. Leeds are aiming to finish 5th again this year
2. McDermott's limited rotation policy is leading to player burnout

Think McDermott's complaint wasn't so much about us not getting the rub of the green as Catalans getting too much of it.

And with the amount of diving and faking they do at their own play-the-balls, coupled with a partisan crowd and weak refs, that doesn't surprise me.
