I think Barnhill was better than that too. I'd swap Barnhill for Adamson, and I'd be sad not to find a place for Dean Lawford. Should "Mike O'Neill" have read "Mark O'Neill" too? Mike wasn't that bad, although we could swap him for Kirke and put Mark in as well.
I'd have Richie Eyres in ahead of Mann, who I quite liked as a player.
Oh, and Rombo for Rivett.

That's quite confusing if you don't mind me saying so. Perhaps you should understand others selecting class and endeavour over endeavour in the former position when you've done the same with the latter.

What tvoc said.
Sinfield has clearly been a better LEEDS player than Hanley. No question.
Diksin has clearly been a better LEEDS player than Buderus. No question.
You've seemingly picked Hanley over Sinfield based on Hanley as an overall RL Player, rather than his specific seasons at Leeds, and yet you've opted not to choose the same selection strategy with regards to Buderus. Your theory needs to be applied to both, or neither.

All prefaced with a big IMO obviously, but...
Sinfield has undoubtedly been more successful as a Leeds player than Hanley, helped by the fact he's been here longer and at the right end of his career. Hanley, however - even in his relatively short time at the club and in the twilight of his career - still produced more "wow" moments and performances that left you scratching your head in wonderment.
I'd apply the same criteria to the Buderus/Diskin argument, but overlooked both in preference to David Ward purely based on his ability to drag a side around the field by the scruff of its neck when needed and his astute rugby brain.

| quite simply I picked the players while they only played for Leeds.
Buderus(although world class at newcastle) hasnt been over here and Diskin in his best days AT Leeds was as good if not better than in Danny's stint over here
Similar Ellery in his stint here WAS still world class, world record try scorer for a forward in a season, taking us to Wembley (twice) after years, his overall play , he reffed more games than the designated ref for the game!!!and his attitude/example to the others on the field and off it( just ask Mr Lowes)and he still found time to do our coaching and then coach GB!!!!
Sinfield is a very good Leeds player plus you can add his time served and his example off it,, but one Is top Super League class ( Sinfield) while in his time at Leeds the other was still very much world class ( Hanley)
But as they say opinions are like ar@es ,we've all got one but they are all different!!

Me too
Daryl Powell was an unsung hero, but he was also a tremendous SL player, one who served our club with total dedication, a real team player
Although not the most skillful player that has ever graced our turf, he was a player that his team mates would always look up to for his enthusiasm and the leadership qualities that he brought to his side on match days
Daryl was also selected regularly for GB and at a time when we were as close as we ever will be to beating the Aussies in a test series. I recall that he made upwards of 25 caps too
The fact that some fans don't realise what players of his ilk bring to a side doesn't surprise me one bit

I included Daryl in my greatest 17 (admittedly on the bench but I had to fit him in) ahead of far more talented players because he was a true pro and the best team player that I've seen (others that are close would be Sinny and Ablett)
I'm sure I once heard that didn't Ellery once name Daryl as the best player he'd played with?
Oh and it's 33 caps for GB...must put him respectably high in the most capped players list (Schoey had 46 and is top)

It's really because he was playing when I was a kid watching from the terraces and its about as far back as I can remember! Though I do remember him looking quality on the wing and there haven't been that many cracking wingers play for Leeds since. It was a close call between Bentley & Donald.

Same here really. I had it a close call between those two and also Calderwood (despite his post Leeds decline).
My side (back on page 4 I think) does arguably lack out and out pace so I nearly went for one of the other options but Bentley was great to watch and also seemed a great bloke (which was reinforced when I met him in a London pub after the 1999 cup final)

For me Fallon is a point of frustration - good player but never lived up to his full potential, always seemed to lack a touch of confidence (whereas the best wingers are arguably on the cocky side of confidence).
Compare him to two contrasting players like Donald (who would back himself to take people on) or Bai (big hearted player) and for me Fallon never entirely did either despite having the full nal in terms of physical attributes (big and yet very quick)

Absolutely breaks my heart not to be able to include a Fallon-Godden wing/centre partnership. Godden could have made Jim Fallon into a Leeds legend. But the obligation to include Schofield, Hanley and Sinfield sees Schoey take a centre spot; and for some reason I can't imagine Fallon being someone Schofield would work well with in a partnership.
The realisation also strikes home once again that we've not had a top class, organising, creative scrum half for two decades now (Sheridan even on his best days and a past-it Gregory don't count).

I noticed that too with ref to the paucity of a good scrum half, hence my placing Cliff Lyons there alongside the irrepressible John Holmes.
None of us should get too hung up on who others may or may not have missed out....it's more a case of provoking debate and light hearted banter I hope. Of course some might have initially nominated Buderus (fabulous player though he is) over the likes of David Ward simply to generate that 'healthy' incentive for others to contribute to the thread. Others might have picked Burrow for similar reasons.
I am not immune for example to the virtues of John Bentley (or Eric Grothe) to have been given a right wing spot (loved watching both), but those that have witnessed the superlative hand off skills of Mr. Alan Smith will know only too well why he had to be first choice in that particular position IMO.
Leeds do appear to have been blessed with some hugely talented genuine threequarters over the decades (Iro also now springs to mind).....and is all the more reason to lament the recent months where - because of such paucity in these positions - the club has had to resort to full backs and, ever worse, back row forwards.
