Are you stating some facts about our new centre signing or simply listing some criteria which should apply for any new signing?
Is Moon from the Warriers a rumour or is he the signing? Is he an improvement on what we've got or just another Delaney?

Godden had played for Australia during the SL war though didn't he? Donald was a prolific scorer although not one of the standout wingers. Kylie was reasonably regular from the bench for Manly IIRC.

The difference between star threequarters and NRL regulars is very pronounced. There aren't that many forwards who you'd call 'stars' in the same way, and the gap between NRL regular forwards and Origin standard is often not that big (see Ben Cross for evidence).

Having said that, we don't need a real 'star' - Carmont was virtually a nonentity in the NRL. What we do need is somebody that is a genuine centre and who carries some kind of attacking threat.

On the subject of Toopi, he's going alright in what is a very poor Titans outfit this year. His defence is - literally - very hit and miss, with huge hits often followed by complete misreads in defence.

Doubt St George will let him go anywhere with Gasnier going. I don't think they would've wanted him to go even if Gasnier was staying

Does anybody have an inkling as to who the new centre (and the other signing) are rumoured to be. GH is keeping his cards close to his chest! I hope we're all not going to be dissappointed!

where has GH come out and said that there will be an announcement soon about new signings? Have I missed this confirmation or are people just wildly speculating, as usual?

Over the last couple of years the overseas recruits have not been good. In the glory years we had some cracking signings. I await to be pleasantly surprised but I agree with your sentiment. Do you know any more?

Was it last year when he went to Aus that he stated he was going to not only look for players for the 2011 season but also forwards from that? That gets me excited but then I remember what we have signed recently and get rather down hearted. I hate using the term but we need a marque signing in the squad and if Buderus is going, adding in Senior, Burgess, Cross, poss Ali et al there must be room to do it.
