I was trying to be nice by not saying I think we will beat you but since you brought it up...
Anyway, I feel more confident that we are playing you at the KC. I cant remember the last time we played poorly there. Look at round 2 this season. Along with the Cas game a few weeks back, thats the best we have played this year.

| Quote ="tvoc"No. I only see a difficult Quarter Final tie at Hull. I don't see anything beyond that.
Leeds: 1999, before that 1978, 1977, 1968, 1957, 1942, 1941, 1936, 1932, 1923, 1910
Hull: 2005, 1982, 1914
With the final being back at Wembley Hull won't be expecting to change the habit of a club lifetime ...... will they?
Hull's last 8 results V Leeds: =#FF0000L, L, L, =#FF0000L, L, =#FF0000L, =#FF0000L, =#FF0000L and 5 of those (marked in red) were at the KC Stadium where overall Leeds have come away with the points on 10 of their 12 visits. That sequence of results (from Hull's POV) L, L, L, L, L, W, W, L, L, L, L, L does give FC a crumb of comfort though.
Should be a good game and one to look forward to, just a pity there's such a long wait now for the Quarter Final ties now.'"
Not sure where your coming from here, you have have backed me that we do not have much chance in the league, but as i stated the CC is different.Your fellow poster is showing a bit of disrespect to every club but the so called top five, i have great respect for Leeds in the way they bring there kids through, but at the moment you are probably out of the running for league /grand finals. It was always talked about the top four rather than top five where do you feel your club is at the moment.

Have you not seen the table? 2 wins in our next two and we are more than likely 1 point off the top. The way I look at the table this year and the teams in it any one of 5 teams can win. Leeds are 1 of them. Dont forget that 2 weeks ago we beat a team that had beaten Wigan and Warrington at thier home grounds and we beat them comfortably too.

That's the general idea. Not sure I'm coming at this from any particular angle just presenting some facts, some ancient (answering the 'last time' cup question posed) and some more recent in relation to Hull V Leeds encounters.
It demonstrates what Hull will need to overcome to move on to the semi-finals but neither rules in or rules out their chances of doing so.
I would place Leeds around the 5 on the evidence of the season so far but would always back their chances in a one off fixture just as I would Hull. It's all on the day.

The 22 All draw with Wigan may suggest otherwise - especially as that was most definitely in the point dropped rather than point gained territory after surrendering an eighteen point lead in the final quarter.

<as Harrigan said above> Plus getting in that position without 2 of our most influential players for most of the season (not to mention half a dozen others). When McGuire and Webb return (hopefully this week ) Leeds can start the assault on the top 4. I think we've done pretty darn well to be in then position we are at.

| Good tie for Leeds. We've had muchos recent success against them of late. They never seem to be able to handle our skill factor and their pack always looks sluggish against us. So they will need to raise their game. However their form has improved so it could be a tasty tie.
Let's just be thankful we don't need to make a trip to the other side of the city where we can't even pay for a win.

Well TMFMISL got under his skin didn't he. Radders sent off for getting flustered totalled your chance of top 4 which then ended your season.
This Bailey has a lot to answer for.
The Hull pack hasn't controlled TMFMISL very well at all, so let's see if they can step up to his level.
Radders may want to keep Bailey locked down if his recent offloads are anything to go by. Back-door-Bailey appeared yet again in the build up to Ali's monster try. Just happens to be on my favourites of the season.

Taking the sequence back to their last win v Leeds it was:
=#FF0000L, =#FF0000L, =#FF0000L, =#FF0000L, =#800000D, =#FF0000L, =#FF0000L, =#FF0000L, =#FF0000L, =#FF0000L, =#FF0000L
The Hull win that preceded that run (Hull 38 Leeds 6) was the final time Leeds had to visit the Boulevard (of broken dreams?) For the first five of the above sequence the games were all played at Headingley (SL, SL, PO, CC, SL) followed by three games at Leeds' new favourite away ground and ending with Headingley - KC - Headingley.
As everyone knows runs (against same division opponents) will, more than likely, eventually come to an end. Salford beating Leeds for the first time in SL (2009), Hull KR winning at Headingley for the first time in 25 years (2010), Huddersfield winning at Headingley for the first time in over 50 years (2011), even Warrington have beaten St Helens this season - so anything is possible.

Leeds had won the previous four against Warrington and seven from the previous eight. Lost the last two at present leading into Friday's encounter.

I am indeed and it is entirely justified. Not one of them are genuine contenders for winning either SL or the CC.
And furthermore, if I had to select one whipping boy SL team out of the nine I alluded to earlier, then Hull FC would be most worthy of the highest level of disrespect. They have the infrastructure, the stadium, the abundance of local youth playing the game to tap into, the financial clout and the fan base to be one of the top achieving clubs in SL. Yet... apart from a brief period circa 2005/2006... they are the epitome of the most underachieving, rag tag collective of inconsistent tripe.
Of the remaining seven teams in the CC to draw out of the bag, Hull FC were without doubt the most comfortable and easiest draw of the lot for Leeds (home or away).

I'd still have much preferred drawing Castleford instead. Expected Warrington to get them in the traditional 'quarter final bye' given their runs over the last two seasons.

Debatable. On current form, Cas appear the weakest of the remaining CC clubs but the next round is 2 months down the track. They are also more likely to UP their game against Leeds than Hull FC are.
In the unfamiliar and unusual absence of a QF home draw for Leeds, drawing Hull away is about as good as it gets at this stage of the competition given the tougher alternatives.
