Really hall is a good winger for Leeds and one of the better wingers in the league. I am sure he could become a first team winger in the NRL.

I think some people hold the NRL in far too high regard. Not every player in every team in the NRL are world beaters.

He probably isn't world class as that phrase is banded about too much but I am glad he plays for us and is better player than some give him credit for

Does World Class mean at that time, or over a period? Depending on how you see this the qualification can be miles apart. If it's at that time, then depending on the overall quality of players, you can be pretty average in historical terms, yet sensational at that point in time.

Hall is a good winger now, maybe the best in SL, he would probably get a gig with most (not all) teams in the NRL. He is not Eric Grothe or Billy Boston, which I suppose shows the overall level of quality now compared with different periods of the game in the past.

You need to quit kow-towing to the chest-thumping opinion of the resident twig-snapper who has gone on record acknowledging he has no interest in the NRL and doesn't watch it. His opinions on Ryan Hall's NRL suitability are therefore worthless.

I only caught the last 20 minutes of commentary on the radio last night but reading between the lines (take note Ryan Hall... that's what they are there for!) it was a dreadful game punctuated by Sinfield's sensationally inventive pass to an opposition player for a Harlequins try.

Sorry Gotcha, you're allowed to raise O'Davis (a fullback) and Tahu (primarily a centre) as examples of poorer 'wingers' than Hall (IMO in fact Tahu at his best was a far more potent threat than Hall on the wing) but I'm not allowed to mention Hayne and Boyd, both of whom are quite possible opponents for Hall for Australia (and play there in Origin) because they play fullback for their clubs? Bizarre.

As it stands today, the most likely wingers for Australia are Yow Yeh and Boyd, with Hayne and Morris next in line (unless Slater gets injured and Boyd/Hayne move to fullback). Oddly Hayne hasn't been picked by NSW even though at his best he's clearly the best WINGER available (also better than Queensland's).

I'd be more than happy if England could pick two 'wingers' who were world class on the wing even though they play elsewhere for their clubs - not least because it would suggest we had a surplus of quality players elsewhere - which we don't.

I like Hall, I want him to do great things for Leeds - and he already has done a lot. If he went to the NRL he'd do well. But I simply can't see him being a star player.
