BJB is a natural FB. Hence the reason why Bluey has played him there in the past, plus he played a full season at Quins playing FB too. Delaney is a centre all the way, he had an average first season but I'm not writing him off yet, I'm backing him to come good. As for Smith I don't think he has found his position yet. Before Webb picked up his injury I would have said he was a FB, but Smith was terrible covering for Webby. Whether that was due to Smith been fatigued and carrying a few extra pounds is anyone's guess.

Seems to me that virtually every young back with real promise has played stand off at some stage - shows that the gameplan in British youth rugby's largely about getting the ball to the best player rather than developing players in their best positions.

An outstanding observation, and the sole reason why our backs simply cannot compete with Oz.

I could be tempted to considering it if I thought McShane could play scrum half better than Burrow (with Burrow providing the zippy dummy half work Leeds craved but didn't get so much from the Buderus/Diskin combination.) I haven't seen enough of McShane in that position to judge but I wouldn't be that enthusiastic from what I have seen. Dean Lawford anyone.

Assuming Burrow stays at 7 it will be interesting to see what they do in early season if he gets an injury, although Sinfield and Webb would probably be the halves in that scenario with Jones-Bishop/Smith covering full-back and wing.

Interesting suggestion ref McShane and Burrow: could work. Bit slow then in the half-backs maybe. However, think you made a few errors elsewhere...so have "corrected" them for you

Ye fair enoug, not too sure about BJB at centre, but it could be interesting and would definitely add speed, but ye agree with delaney at second row, because i personally don't think he is fast enough to be at centre.

Tall enough certainly but not got the frame or physique yet.
Tall & willowy (cf Eric Ashton) not built like Senior or any number of the Aussies & Kiwis you could mention.

Depending on what RL publication you read we are in for replacement for Mcguire ( not expected back till May) and Hauraki that's in the LW.
Whereas the LE just says the we are after 1 more player to complete our squad and both mention Lowes as a possible no2 to Brian Mcdermott.
