rhinoms is correct, it has jack-all to do with the Quins or the RFL we can just fill i the relevant form and cancel, the rules are very clear on this, but it does sound like some sort of discussion has been had and the GH has not come away empty handed, so to speak, from the discussions!

The only thing they could influence is the date of the rearrangement, but only if they could prove that the following Wednesday was not suitable, maybe the ground not being available or it would effect plans they already have.

IMO this is typical GH – he’s just letting the rest of the RL world know that he could have postponed this game if he wanted to but feels it was unnecessary.

Basically “we have enough faith in our squad depth to win this game and we’re just letting you know about it”

Win or lose this scheduled fixture there would have been no guarantee of Leeds winning a delayed, rearranged fixture, whenever that could have been accommodated.

Given the few internationals England play, the more often we get the full strength side together the better, both to bond and work on combinations. I didn't mind the squad overmuch - picking Widdop was exactly the right thing to do as he's a very talented kid and to be frank even as second-string to Slater is better than any English SL fullback (although he may end up as a stand off).

I'm not really all that bothered about grammar myself, although winding up Bewildered is pretty funny.

If you're going to name a squad well in advance perhaps making it around 24 before being trimmed to the 19 (after round 16 was completed) would have been sensible.
