| It shows how much Leeds want to win the Cup this year IMO.
BTW, off topic but I saw this list on the SL website:
The RFL is announcing the full Top 10 Challenge Cup Greatest Overseas Players of All Time all this week as the competition prepares for this weekend’s quarter-final ties.
The list so far is:
5 – Robbie Paul (Bradford Bulls)
6 – Chris Anderson (Halifax)
7 – Gavin Miller (Hull KR)
8 – Kevin Iro (Wigan)
9 – Matt Adamson (Leeds Rhinos)
10 – Michael Monaghan (Warrington Wolves)
In what universe does Adamson get anywhere near top 10 overseas players in the CC???? I wouldn't even put him in the top 10 for Leeds FFS. Jamie Mathiou (yes!), Brad Godden, Richie Blackmore all Marc Glanville - all actually won the darn thing.

| Didn't Matt Adamson play most of the first half of the semi final V St Helens in 2003 with a fractured cheekbone/eye socket and then risk his eyesight to play in the final. While probably an incredibly stupid thing to do it's a fair measure of the competition's importance to our antipodean friends who visit these shores with the dream of playing in a Challenge Cup Final.
I hope Brett Kenny and/or Peter Sterling feature somewhere in the list from comfortably my favourite CC Final as a neutral in '85 and Dean Bell has to be a near cert.

| I went to that final and the one the year before. The contrast in standard of the games was enormous, although Joe Lydon scored a blinder for Widnes in 84 IIRC.
Adamson being brave may impress some people but I'd not put him into a best of Leeds' overseas players from the last decade.

Absolutely laughable and just proves yet again that the RFL are clueless.

I'm reliably informed that the RFL have chosen Joe Grima at number 1.

Which is not in the first 17 then, Burrow or Webb?

| I know a close friend of mine who had a sports related injury had Mr M Jones as his physio for a few weeks now and described him as quote "fookin brilliant" or something along those lines.
Working his magic again.

The week before the Final we played Castleford at the Jungle and I saw Adamson before the game, his face was a right state (understatement) he just had the operation to insert metal plates into his cheek. The week leading upto the final I found it very hard to believe Adamson would play, but he obviously did, unbelievable.

Matt Adamson played 10 times in the Challenge Cup competition (didn't score a point) hard to deny him his place now.

Surprised at that.
Thought they might have gone for Mark Cannon or Kerry Hemsley (just for the mullet)

| Michael "Schnoz" O'Connor for his world class final performance for Saints against Wigan I reckon.

| That'll be the one.
Apparently Murphy gave Paul Vautin a real mouthful at full time for not taking an easy two points when they were already about 15-nil down, then subsequently slaughtered Vautin and O'Connor in his Daily Mirror column the week after the final.

| Heard from someone in club that JPs playing , but Ali out
Really looking forward to this one now - gonna be a great game and hopefully a good win for us! We certainly have more than a strong enough team, even without Ali, Webb and Rob, to beat the pies.

| Quote ="Bilko"It seems the Semi Final draw will take place not after Bradford v Warrington on TV but next Wednesday.
So we had the Round 3 draw streamed Live online from Gateshead with no sound or captions, meaning no one had a bl00dy clue what was going on..
The Round 4 draw was a Monday Night on 5 Live.
The Round 5 draw was done on BBC Local Radio despite three games still being in process.
The Quarter Final draw was done on TV after a televised game.
The Semi Final draw will be back on 5 Live, possibly in the afternoon.
Farce, Farce, Farce is the only way to describe all this.'"

I think he may start on the bench TBH, but if he is 100% then I have feeling he would start.
