With you now. The only questionable decision by the video referee at Odsal was the no obstruction by Terry Newton on Jamie Jones-Buchanan for Sheriffe's winning score. Everything else were correct calls IMO.

Re the obstruction, as Alibert saw nothing wrong with Senior on Calderwood for the Hall try I guess that will have to count as our even up decision from him. Would have preferred both tries were chalked off mind.

Except it wasnt a monumental feck up. The ref was correct according to the rules. It refers to a diagram but you can get the idea anyway.

I like to think that the majority of Leeds fans actually find the way some players are acting this year a tad embarrassing. I know I do.

Sinfield was always very respectful to the ref, and I suppose he still is, but you do get a sense that they are pushing it a bit. I'd like it stamped out.

We laugh at Calderwood but Ablett was just as bad when he decided not to tackle Worrincy at Odsal.

If they chase the ref half the length of the field and shout in his face like Calderwood did, they're out of order exactly the same as he was. I don't care who the guilty party plays for, it shouldn't happen. There's an element of it in all clubs (even Saints, shock horror). There shouldn't be. That includes Leeds.

Exactly. Plus as tvoc mentioned this isnt Calderwoods first time with this kind of thing either. Should have been sinbinned imo as should Fielden against Wire. The only person who should be talking to the ref is the captain and he should be respectful. If a player or coach has a problem with a ref or a decision they can bring it up in private after the game.

My problem with the newton tackle ay Odslum is that although it did not interfer with the try I always thought tackling a player who one does not havee the ball (infact you are in possion yourself) is a penalty? and has it happened before the try was scored ?

Except it did interfere with the try, as JJB was the charger looking to put pressure on the kicker (Jeffries?) and was denied the chance to do so by Newton flying out of the attacking line and blatantly obstructing him.

Thanks for that. I was beginning to think I'd imagined it.

What made it worse for me was the angle of Newton's run. He targetted Jones-Buchanan as the player to put pressure on the kicker and made a bee line to obstruct him ahead of the ball carrier.

That apart I still had no other issues with Mr Alibert's video rulings.

I find it strange that Saints supporters call, Leeds players over talking to refs, when last year they could basically chose who refed them. Eg No Mr Smith and they allowed that well known Saints supporter Ganson ref key games for them.
