| Quote ="William Eve"No need to fork out £22 for the privilege of checking out cloud formations which will be infinitely more interesting and absorbing than Leeds V Wakefield WBSLR Part Deux.
I almost feel sorry for season ticket holders who feel obliged to turn up on Friday evening for no other reason than they have paid for a season ticket and therefore feel they ought to get their shillings worth. It's tough enough having to turn up and pretend a regular season SL fixture between two competitive teams is actually meaningful without the burden of having to pretend that SL teams like Wakey actually merit the moniker of 'competition'.
If the cloud formations lack inspiration, you could always tune into that band struggling hard to generate a faux matchday atmosphere. Then there's the inspirational chants of RYAN... RYAN... NNNAAAAAALLLLL... RYAN... RYAN.... NNNAAAAAALLLLL... when he belly-flops over for his hat-trick or more.'"
Pitiful competition ... Only reason Leeds are still in with a chance of another GF win with their ageing decrepit first choice pack and clueless bench-warming-selections coach ......although they undoubtedly are still bound to fail the CC test.

Unfortunately, if we pulled together all players of a reasonable and semi-reasonable quality, there'd still only be enough players to fill half a dozen SL teams at the most. With barely 100 players of requisite quality in the whole comp, well over half the SL squads are guaranteed to be absolute gash (especially when said clubs are skint) whilst the squads at the top clubs embrace their own mediocrity by passing it off as quality. Still... it's enough to hoodwink most modern day fans of Super League whose constituency, on the whole, won't be splitting the atom any time soon.

Wakefield being pretty rubbish is the only reason Leeds are still in with a chance of winning the GF???
They've mostly been poor for the majority of their SL years.
Quite a turn around by Wakey fans though, after racking up 50 points 2 weeks in a row they were getting confident of a climb up the table and beating Saints, they're now back down to doom & gloom. Will probably still be the ref's fault though, the guy I work alongside (Wakey fan) has only ever not blamed the ref for a Wakefield defeat probably about 3/4 times in 10 years of me knowing him. Even earlier this week he said "I knew we'd lose as soon as I saw who the ref was".......yes that was clincher really wasn't it

You have a confusing, muddled, repetitive, irritating agenda.
I'm assuming you like the game of rugby league, yes?
So you slag off fans who are turning up to games week in week out, presumably if they posessed the intellectual prowess you like to think you have, they would turn their noses up at such a sub standard level of competition. Thus the game of rugby league (that game you are rather fond of, correct?) would die in this country. Wonderful.
But no, that's not the end of it. You continually scrutinize the level of attendances in super league, pointing out declines and being generally negative.
1. Criticises fans for turning up to games
2. Criticises declines in attendances.
Dear oh dear.
Very sad.

Bemoans clubs having offers on tickets yet celebrates when he get his tv deals at a low price after haggling.
He's an attention seeker who is fun to play with at times, at the end of the day though he is the one who has to live with the fact that it takes internet trolling to get kicks and excitement and being noticed into his life. For every time he gets reactions he thinks he wins......truth is, if he needs to get reactions from others it just proves he's a desperate loser with a life away from the keyboard where he barely gets noticed.

I meant the SL competition as a whole was 'pitiful' .....sad to say. Is it, or is it not, predictable which teams will finish in the top 5? ... Every match should be a competition and not a procession. Which do you expect against London, Wakefield or Bradford?

Bradford and London are dead men walking this season for obvious reasons and an easy two points for the majority, if not all of SL.Wakey are also a very poor side this time out after just coming out of major difficulties of their own and would have been strong favourites for relegation were the woes of the other two sides not so extreme.
Im not really disagreeing with what you have put down, the top 5 is probably quite easy to predict, but i do think taking the 3 sides above out of the equation the rest of SL is competetive enough.Widnes have improved and look a solid side now.Cas have had a great start and look to be able to mix it with the best at least at home.Hull and HKR are up and down but can certainly compete on their day and Salford are on the rise.Catalans have had a poor start but are picking up a bit now and when players return from injury are a handful for everyone in SL.
In a nutshell, its shocking what has happened to the bottom couple of clubs this year and they are going to be walking byes all season but the rest of the league is in decent enough shape.Hopefully the couple of sides moving up next year will provide a better test.

Yes but Billy, it's all we have... and for those who are (relatively) new to the sport, they know no different. I will agree that on a whole the overall standard of the NRL outweighs that of ESL but there are many different factors that contribute to this. Factors that we will never be able to compete with so why bother trying?
So instead of bemoaning and lamenting the passing of a once great sport – suck it up, swallow that pride and embrace what we have now. It’s a different product these days, you can either accept that it’s changed or move on. I hear the standard of the English crown green bowling is at its peak at the moment.

Firstly the top 5 is not the same year on year. Huddersfield have only recently been added to the top 5, ousting the previous occupants Catalans. Before that Warrington who only became a major force about 4 years ago. its not long since Hull were top 5 regulars, same with Bardford, and Wigan were out of the top places for a couple of seasons.
Even if it were only the same top sides each year, how is that different to any other sports in any other country? In football most nations only have a couple of people who ever seem to win the title. England has a top 4 which rarely seems to change, and thats a league which thrives on being competitive.
The NRL does seem to have a good level of turnaround from one season to another, but the clubs can all afford to operate close to the cap. The clubs in SL cannot for one reason or another. Some clubs find it hard to attract fans through the gates, which is not that surprising when the people who profess to love the game prefer to point score on the net than support struggling clubs by attending games

Being a Wakey fan I'd have to agree with confidence being high after comfortably beating both Catalan and London as well as running St.Helens very close. However there was no blaming the ref against Leeds who absolutely thrashed Wakey last week in a very professional performance with the Wakey team making loads of mistakes, no real energy/commitment, poor tackling technique/defensive structure and looking as if they'd thrown the towel in before half time.
Boot on the other foot would you be in optimistic mood with that inept display and after getting beat by 60 points which is the third highest defeat in the club's history?

When Jeff joined. So probably over a decade ago.
Over a decade, and thousands of posts, as a faux intellectual winding up fans on an internet message board.
Depressing.
