You can't buy "wired" hubs or routers in PC World anymore, we needed three last week for a job, quickly, had to pick them up in a obscure place that specialises in printer cartridges

Doesn’t surprise me TBH, in fact you’d be hard pushed to find any domestic computer based hardware that isn’t equipped with wi-fi these days.

Some times there are 6 devices connected to my wireless router (when the girls are round)

Don't have a desktop anymore - they're so 'last season'.

With a 1.5Tb wireless network storage I really can’t see the need for one - you could do with draggings yourself into the 21st Century mate. Desktops - pah

Its not all bad for Laptops - some are good but it all depends on what you are using them for.

I can only really think of two advantages with Laptops/NB - portability and access to wireless networking in public places.

Main disadvantage is performance (it ain't a business capable machine),and the fact that the vast majority are "proprietary" meaning that their components are not interchangeable so the as at PC World sell you something thats out of date faster than you can blink.

My lap top is using a Intel Core 2 Duo T9800 running at 2.93GHz, 1066MHz FSB, (6MB Cache) and 4GB DDR2 SDRAM is plenty fast enough for me after all I don’t do anything else but come on here and eBay



This is still probably faster than 95% of domestic desktops (I’m guessing there are one or two game geeks that are running quad-core but not that many)

Admittedly it is a little more expensive to kit a lap-top to this spec than it would a desktop but I figure I’m worth it

Sure a bottle of posh shampoo could do that for you lad...
