I have enjoyed watching Cuthbo over the years, but he was shocking v KR. Not on his own I know, but........
In truth, the decision to extend his deal doesn't look so clever right now.

Absolutely - Bennett saw it straight away.

Cuthbertson was ill at the start of the week and hasn't recovered enough to play.

Stevie Ward was wearing a protective boot a couple of days ago, so may not play.

Not again - there must come a point where the club have to protect the player from himself

Been playing injured for weeks according to Sinfield, but keep throwing the biggest insult you can probably level at any player.

I'd say that there are very few players who have played professionally that have "no heart". It's easy to mistake someone who can't play to their full potential because of injury as someone who isn't trying.

That said, some players have more appetite for defence, and some for attack. I don't think there are many that will only do one and not the other.

Cuthbertson on an extended deal looks a poor decision now. Ok doing the fancy offloads but seems to lack heart for the real tough stuff. Ferres seemed to be keeping well out of the way against HKR too, didn't even realise he was playing until about the 70th minute !!

cuthbo is and always was an attacking player, saying he has no heart is bollox, he is and has been doing it tough all season carrying injuries having to do a role that he is not the best at. i would say he has got heart, lesser players would take there bat n ball home if not playing the way they want to, maybe if some of the others would man up a bit more he would not have to be the tough guy down the middle and would play the game he is best suited to.

i can think of maybe a handful of players who i would call bottleless over the years and we have had a couple recently (mitch Achurch)but cuthbo is not one of them.

hes a prop who doesnt like the tough stuff anymore. it's a props job. never mind get others doing it so he can play.millington manages to do both. he thinks he's a 6. he's not

Fully agree. The critics forget Cuthbo (and JJB, Singleton & Ablett) had to do the hard middle stuff for the first half of the season with all our big men missing. Cuthbo still has the second best work rate per minute in the squad and has made the most carries in the forwards and the 3rd most tackles after Parcel and Singleton.

So to say he has "no heart", "heartless" or is "not trying" is out of order and deeply insulting for a player that kept taking the field when not fully fit or with a broken finger when we had no other props to call on.

Cuthbertson was a very efficient metre making prop in the NRL, this no heart stuff is sounding very scapegoatish. Wayne Bennet doesn’t like an expansive and risky game.

There’s a few players more deserving of criticism infront of him.

Our pack is probably the worst in Super League.

I think that sums Cuthbertson up pretty much.

There is taking the ball in to hurt your opponent LMS style and there is taking the ball in not to get hurt yourself - Cuthbertson is definitely not the former. He turns his back into every tackle - trying to offload at every tackle isn't appropriate so to say he looking for it at every tackle simply doesn't stack up.

not a case of not trying.i never said that. maybe my choice of words. he doesn't like doing what props have to do. built a platform. dominate your opponents. he wants to be creative. he's had the balance right up to this year. this year he's tried to do to much creative stuff to the detriment of what should be his ptoper role.

I’ll go with that. Had Garbutt been on the pitch for most of the season it would’ve maybe allowed Cuthbertson to promote the ball in the tackle more because we’d have earned the right to do it.

is there too much weight on garbutt knees? I hope he recovers because boy have we missed him.
