Yes, I do understand what you are wittering on about, and have some sympathy for the point of view regarding offensive songs and chants.
What I do not have, is any respect for a poster who attempts to hijack a thread simply to promote their own particular viewpoint.Your points, re the normal abuse of the opposition during a game are simply nonsensical, and are easily dismissed as such.
Once again, on this occasion, congrats from the Northstand to all in the Southstand for their instinctive and spontaneous reaction to Chev's injury.
And I think we'll leave it there. |

Got to applaud senior for alerting the bench as soon as possible and helping chev out on the ground. And a special mention to the leeds fans for the chev walker chants and the physio staff for helping out too.
Hope he makes a full recovery and can pull on a red and white shirt once again.

Just thought it was worth coming here to praise the fans for chanting Walkers name after his injury.
I'm sure when he looks back at this he'll take a lot of heart out of the support he got from both sets of fans.

Once again you fail to see the point and, indeed, the contradiction in your own post. Can't have it both ways my friend.
Nice to see that the 'respect' you talk of extends to your own posts on here, although, to be fair, I've been called worse and I'm sure I'll live.
My comments were directed towards the supporters of my team who were abusing CW prior to the incident (there were plenty in the SS I can assure you) but now want to feel all 'RL family' because they chanted Chev's name. Perhaps they'll reflect upon some of the mindless and insulting chants directed towards opposition fans and players that we get every game when tragic events like this occur?
Now if wanting to discuss our attitude to our fellow fans and to other teams makes me a sad little individual I'll just have to live with it eh? |
