Glanville would be an interesting choice as a number 2, but I think he has business interests outside the game that would prevent it from happening.

When does pre-season start?? A few have started. I had us down for Monday (although not sure if I've heard that somewhere or making it up??).

Who ever it is needs to be involved from the beginning. It's hard enough starting a new job as it is without having to play catch up.

Adamson is saying he want's to come back in the YEP. I didn't realise we needed a new cheerleader as well as a few more on the coaching side....

Matt Adamson to be announced over the next few days apparently.

although i'm not jumping for joy with this possible announcement,i will give whoever get's the job my full support.
i would have preffered a former back to take on this role,dunneman would have been a good appointment imo,he was always a player that could take the game by the "scruff of the neck",he was also very tactically aware of how to direct play successsfully.
dunner's obviously has a very good position at the newcastle knights at present but you do get the feeling that he will be back at the club in the not too distant future.
i just hope that there's going to be enough tactical awareness in the camp to sort out our backline and to bring some new ideas to the team if matty gets the job.

I agree only time will tell. I would have loved AD but he has a good position At the knights and is probably destined for big things. I always liked adamson as a player no frills no nonsense player as was mcdermott if they can sort the back line out who knows?

Yes I don't disagree with you there I have the same concerns however just because they played the same may not mean they coach the same. But again we won't really know till we are into it and it's either working well or the s$*t has hit the fan

Adamson is currently a greeter in a restaurant is that the best we can attract as a coach - it would be a disaster.

It's important that an assistant coach ought to be intellectually and tactically inferior to the coach himself.

In McDermott's case, Adamson is one of the few available that might just fit the bill.

Personally, I think Adamson would have a great effect on the club. Would have preferred Dunneman, definately, but Adamson knows the club was part of the first success, and I think he would work well with the new coach.

Just don't let him do the team talks before big games....

I have seen on here Lowes mentioned, why would Lowes be a better option for us than Adamson? Lowes made no secret of the hatred he had for Leeds because they released him. I would rather have a guy who thinks highly about the club than some turd who felt hard done by.

Sure Adamson was very big on his cheerleading instead of concentrating on his rugby in his last year, but perhaps that could be adjusted to be motivating and getting players motivated his one of the requirements of a coach.

Is that what he did at Penrith, where there was a dressing-room rebellion insisting he be sacked, after they finished bottom then near-bottom of the NRL in his two years there?

Since then, nobody in Australia has gone near him for a coaching job. McDermott and Adamson would be a bad-cop/bad-cop combination.

(BTW I also think Lowes would be a terrible choice, judging on his coaching record).
