| Quote ="Phuzzy"Well said tvoc! How any opposition fan can feel they have justification to bag either player just baffles me. O'Loughlin has been outstanding for Wigan this year (as he has been even in poorer teams for some years now). It amazes me that coaches, players and journalists throughout this year have mentioned him as a potential MOS yet some opposition fans (and I stress ONLY opposition fans - go figure!) seem to think they have some greater insight than those who play/coach with and against him or see most, if not all, games he plays. Some people need to take a reality check on the self important view of their own opinions. But, of course, that's only MY opinion!

You could make a radio show getting fans to air their views out of this!

Roby has scored 6 times as many tries as Piggy
Roby has created 6 times as many tries as Piggy
Roby makes twice as many carries for over 1m per carry more than Piggy
Roby averages over 30% more tackles a game and misses fewer of them than Piggy
Roby makes 6 times more offloads as Piggy
Roby makes 4 times as many tackle busts as Piggy
Roby makes 4 times as many clean breaks as Piggy
Roby has kicked 40/20 and Piggy hasn't
Roby gives away fewer penalties than Piggy

How embarrassing, I did know Dobson is Australian and as soon as I saw your post I went 'I knew that'! I am clearly getting myself in a muddle and mixing him up in my brain with someone else in terms of nationality, but can't for the life of me think who!

If he'd been given the game time given to Buderus I am sure he'd have been in there.

Had Diskin been given every second of every game I find it exceedingly hard to believe he would have out-performed Roby and Monaghan this year.

Totally agree. SOL has more pace than Sinfield, the one area where Sinny is distinctly ordinary.

We;ll never know. What we do know is when Buderus broke his leg last year in July and Diskin was given back the pivotal role that had gained us great success we never lost a game, romped to the LLS and the GF.
This year, the Lion's share of the playing time has been Buderus's.

Well done at least for the correct use of an apostrophe in relation to Buderus ...although you don't necessarily need the extra " s ...

Far too diplomatic ! !
Buderus would of course have made it into the dream team but for having to " share " his role on an equal basis with an inferior product that ate into his game time

I don't remember McShane ever sharing the same game with the anointed one.....but if I am wrong then yeah I apologise. He like Diski might be a real sensitive soul and really care a hoot what I or any other character on here thinks.. : )
By the way back on topic of course Roby deserves his place as the season's best

The voting rules put pay to Danny not been selected as voters had to effectively choose between him & Tomkins for 6, even then he ran Tomkins close in the voting apparently! As such, that is also the reason Wellens gets in at 1, because Tomkins couldn't be!

4-King
5-Hall
6-McGuire
7-Dobson
8-Graham
9-Monaghan
10-JP
11-Tomkins
12-Westwood
13-Sinfield
Morley is extremley unlucky to miss out but any 2 of the 3 props would be fitting.
Monaghan just edges Roby for me and I'm in love with Sir Kevin so he has to be in.

Under todays rules that suddenly make Willie Manu English as well as Fasavalu (sp) i'm sure we could get him in an England shirt alongside Pat Richards who apparantly is Irish. If we are going to get foreigners to play for England at least make them good ones!!
Tony Caroll played for both NZ and Oz so anything is possible with RL's judgement of a players nationality.

That wouldn't surprise me except the player still has a say in which national team (if any) they wish to be considered for. I guess theirs is the final say once all other obstacles, grandparents, residency or whatever have been cleared.
IIRC Richards (for instance) has been sounded out by the England management and refused point blank to consider it. Going back a few years I recall Alan Tait doing the same after some soul searching.

| Not so much needed in thje forwards, but I'd bet there are a few English-qualified backs in the NRL who wouldn't get near a rep side in Aus but would be at least as good as some of the English players.
The other thing that strikes me about the MOS/Dream Team and Leeds is that I would have thought the selections suggest a general belief that Leeds are a team where the whole is better than the sum of the parts, rather than a team full of stars.
