| Where are they going to play - fixtures start in Feb - not sure you will be able to play in Toronto before Easter. This would be completely unacceptable to all the other clubs

It would and as such it isn't a level playing field - they will need to find a resolution.

Toronto have been playing in our leagues for 3 years and playing in blocks has been fine. In Feb and March they are going to need to play away from home, as we did in 2018.

Did Celtic Crusaders regularly get 8000-9000 home fans in the Championship?

How isn’t it a level playing field? They still play the same number of home and away games.
Playing some teams 3 times and some teams 2 times isn’t a level playing field, playing a block of games home or away, as we did in 2018 makes no difference whatsoever

This is exactly what I think. Without the full conditions being shown and proven that it can sustain it within this week, I’m not sure the SL clubs will vote for it. Especially considering they are saying that they must fly the teams over business class, have them stay in four star hotels and all expenses paid by Toronto. They currently don’t do any of that, they fly teams over and put them up in hotels but not what is expected of SL clubs.
Today’s news of Thomas Cook probably won’t help the matter for fans getting trips to Toronto (although I’m not sure that’ll be taken into consideration by the board)

| Business class and four star hotels to be paid for by the opposition? Utter nonsense. All Toronto should have to pay for is economy and basic accommodation. This is SL not the premier league. Do cats have to do that?

Well they can make Ricky Leutele the richest centre in Rugby League so they should be able to afford it.

There is a world of difference between us playing block fixtures and Toronto playing block fixtures. It would give them a massive advantage if they dont have to travel for 4 or 5 weeks playing against teams travelling a couple of days before the game.

What utter nonsense, Super League clubs should be responsible for their own travel and accommodation. In all of the NRL, Super Rugby, Pro 12, NFL, NHL, NBA teams have to fly significant distances to play games. Does the home team cover the travel costs? No that would be ridiculous, the away side is responsible for their own travel.
It’s typical of our sports small time thinking that the thing holding back the expansion of the game is an annual 6 hour flight. Toronto just got over 9000 at their play off game a few days after Warrington only got 5000 and tinpot chairmen are looking at reasons to block them worrying about paying for 1 away game in Canada per year.
David Argyle has invested over £10M in Toronto Wolfpack so far, but he’s been treated as some unwanted foreign invader, the Super League meetings must sound like the UKIP party conference and will certainly put off any other people considering investing serious money in the expansion of our game as David Argyle has.

| Agree with above. It shows how truly tin pot our sport is if a pro sports team can't afford to fly and put up for a couple of nights in canada for one game a season

Is there? Why should Toronto and Toronto only suffer from the travel? NZ Warriors have often been given blocks of games and regularly play 2 at home, 2 away etc.

Wouldn’t that simply be their choice though? They want to join a league that works that way in the main, then surely they should work the same way? Otherwise don’t join it.
Really the simple answer is, do the fixtures as they would any other club, and if they end up with a couple during a period they can’t accomodate, then either take them on the road where they can, or play the fixture in the UK. It is after all their problem, and their problem only.

What a complete load of BS a local company could go under unless they the pay an outstanding bill.
They have players in their squad yet to be paid for & twice this year their staff wre paid late.
So its only right they are scrutinised before they are allowed into SL.
People have short memories remember Celtic Crusaders? Or Paris?
If Toronto are so great for the sport etc they'll prove their worth over a longer period & prove they are sustainable.
Also here's a reality check RL over here isnt even close to the revenues of the sports you are quoting so flights once or twice a year etc will have an impact on Clubs running costs.
With regards to the attendance a one off 9k whilst it looks good as a number written down but with most tickets free isnt as brilliant as you make out.
Finally the UKIP ref is complete OTT Lefty faux outrage many Clubs have been denied SL entry in the past so its hardly the big deal you're making it out to be.

The flight from Sydney to Auckland is 3 hours. The flight to Toronto is between 6 and 7. Its not comparable in terms of travelling across time zones either.
I would count 2 at home 2 away as block fixtures in fairness. They have pretty much so far being playing half a season away and half at home.
Its a bit late though for SL to be crying about this it shouldve been sorted and agreed before Toronto was accepted into the league.
I do think Toronto, if sustainable, are good for the sport and they should be accepted into SL if they gain promotion the sams as any other team. A trip to Toronto would do me nicely.

I am in agreement with this, and quite fancy the trip. But that admittance shouldn't be at an advantage to them and disadvantage to others. It should be on a level playing field, and that field is and should be decided by the rest of the competition, not fans that no little about it.

How far Parramatta, Wollongong, Newcastle, Gold Coast, Brisbane and North Queensland Cowboys from Sydney airport? It’s one 6 hour flight a year for an away game shouldn’t be a problem, NRL sides have to fly regularly and as you said if this was an issue they should have never entered league 1 and the Championship

| Toronto don’t enter the Challenge Cup. 14 teams with home and away fixtures would see off the much disliked loop fixtures meaning only 1 trip to Toronto each, not to mention Championship and League One clubs have managed to play away games in Toronto so Super League clubs should be able to manage it.
