I really want Leeds to win the Challenge Cup every season (the trophy is about a thousand times nicer to look at for starters) but it never has been and never will be a preferential target but still a nice consolation nevertheless.

The 'double' has never been achieved by Leeds in it's history despite being a part of several other RL clubs, namely Hunslet, Huddersfield, Swinton, Warrington, Wigan, Bradford and St Helens.

Barrow away, Batley away, London skollars away, South Wales RLFC away or Blackpool Panthers away for me. Any one will do.

Leeds for me can put their stamp on their period of dominance by winning both trophies this season.

It is difficult to go to Wembley and win a tough game, then have enough in the tank physically and mentally to get the job done in October as well. If Leeds can pass that test they can prove themselves with any doubt as the best team of the past decade.

If we are going to do the double we need an easy run in or at least an easy first few rounds.

IMO it imposible to have SL teams in the CC, go on to win it, and then back it up at Old Trafford. (the way SL is so competitive in this day and age) Easy first few rounds will enable Bluey to rest the squad and rotate accordingly.

Normally I really couldn't give a poop about the Challenge cup. But as I do think our dominance after this season will start to diminish, this is finally the chance to put the jelous petty remarks of oppossition fans down their throats, and prove beyond doubt who the best team in Super League has been.

Therefore I would like someone like Hunslet at home in the nest round. Or failiing that, I always like to go to Featherstone.

Agreed. The fact that we have been a top team this last 6 or 7 years, and not had it in our cabinet is probably a chink in our reputation.

Its the later rounds that do the damage IMO, no weeks off when the season is at its most gruelling can be tough for a small squad, and when getting to a final it can be a distraction from the rest of the league.

From our current position we'd have to be outstanding from now until July to get far in the competition and win the LL shield.

Don't agree with this mate. There are four points separating us and Wigan. All it takes is for them to lose a game and for us to beat them in a few weeks and we're level pegging.
Yeah we have to be good but you make it sound like it is neigh-on impossible for us to get to the top of the table.

Yes true, but to then stay top until Sept whilst concentrating on the CC is the tough part. I fully expect us to be top in 6-8 weeks, just if we go far in the cup, I'd expect our league form to suffer a little

If St Helens could do it in 2006 how can it be totally beyond Leeds in 2010?

The current Leeds squad is very good on paper, the best for a few years and arguably better than any other in SL this season. I'm not too concerned by Leeds' relative slow start or Wigan hitting some early form at home under a new coach, it's a long season.
