Just for the record I've never said DB is a bad player due to ability or age (or petro for that matter). Questionable signing considering age, salary cap and what we have in Diskin?? Yes. Stick your heads in the sand and say he isn't old, isn't injured and is on a cheap wage all you like.

Go off topic and quote all the Glanvilles and MacKays you want. The situations at Leeds are much different now and those players weren't are not on the wages mentioned.

fwiw I still think we could do better in the centres and would much rather have spent some cap space in that area.

Oh it's easy. If you've got salary cap space, you just choose the centre you want from the rest of the teams in the world and they and their club will automatically agree the transfer.

I remember when I thought 31 was old – long time ago now.

To think that age has nothing to do with a player’s fragility is simply naïve but to think that a post 30 player has nothing to offer a club is also naïve.

From what I’ve seen of DB he look’s like he’ll bring a touch of class in and around the ptb – also having him in the squad is putting a little pressure on Diskin which, so far, seems to be paying dividends.
