The lad in question has a business that do a bit of sponsorship with Cas. He’s a big fan of theirs, and knows a lot of the players very well.
Reckons he was out having a coffee with Paul McShane the other day, and Macca told him Leeds have made an offer of that amount for Watts, and Cas are considering it.

Also tells me that they were in talks with Cam Smith, and really wanted him to replace Mike McMeekan who is Warrington bound. Apparently Daniel had tried twisting his arm, and they made him an offer, but GH blew them out of the water with his, and that was that.

Watts is a very good forward. But £250k for a 30 year old does appear expensive in the current market. He may be knackered in 3 years time. I hope I’m wrong. However A quality addition in the medium term if this rumour is true. Good to see a British addition rather than relying on an Australasian import.

Who would want Crosby .....? Sutcliffe yes, but again it would depend if Powell would see him as a good fit within his squad. It may cost big otherwise, but we have needed a quality big prop for a while.

I’m glad you’ve come on here and given all the details you know. Can’t stand it when people claim to know something but then hold back some of the key info. Almost like they’re covering their backs.

Watts is the right quality of player, my concern would be if his heart would be in it. I’m old enough to remember Leeds paying a world record for a prop that didn’t want to come, and look how that ended...
