Forgive my ignorance but is that the same Shanahan that used to coach the Raiders, thought he was Mike, went to Denver as far as I recall.

Looks like a dead ringer for him if not.

Yup.

The new Redskins head coach is Mike Shannahan who won 2 superbowls with the Denver Broncos. He has hired his son, Kyle Shannahan, the Houstan Texans offensive co-ordinator to the same position with the Redskins.

Two very positive developments.

It's remarkably common in the US - e.g. Wade Phillips starting out working for his dad Bum Phillips, John Elway playing for Jack Elway through college to name but two. Tons of father/son stuff there.

Kyle hasn't worked for his dad before (though he has worked for Bruce Allen). He wanted to make his own name but when his dad got fired from Denver he realised if the chance comes up he'd better take it.

Last night's wild card game at Arizona was a cracker if you like to see offence. Not so good if you like defence.
/>
Well done to the old guy Kurt Warner.
/>
Commiserations to the Packers who must have one of the best young teams in the NFL so plenty for them to look forward to next year.

Roll on next week!

Too many turnovers and the Ravens took advantage of them all. They went 24 0 up on the back of them and we didnt stand a chance after that because they are just too good at running the ball when the have a lead. To be honest they deserve it because their Defense was awesome as usual.
We missed Welker badly I would say that 2 of Bradys INT`s came from passes he just wouldnt have thrown had Welker been playing because he would have found a way to get open underneath the coverage even though Edelman was outstanding in his place(just like I said he would be www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_mrgreen.gif" alt=" icon_mrgreen.gif" title="Mr. Green" /> www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_wink.gif" alt=" icon_wink.gif" title="Wink" /> ), with Welker we keep drives going on 3rd down with his ability to pick up the yardage that others just cant do as quickly and I would go as far as to say if he was playing we could have come back and won it from 24 0 down because our offense would have been on the field longer.

So to sum it up Im just going to say what St Conroy has on the NFL thread on "other sports" about his Fudge Packers

I think the Cowboys will win the SB !! www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_eek.gif" alt=" icon_eek.gif" title="Shocked" />
They are the best all round team IMO
I want the Cardinals to win it if I had to choose but with he Defense they showed last night Im not sure they are upto it, I can see the Colts losing to the Chargers again somewhere along the way but I think the playoffs are wide open with a lot of good teams that could easily lose against any of the other teams.

As long as the Colts or Jets dont win it im easy www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_lol.gif" alt=" icon_lol.gif" title="Laughing" /> www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_wink.gif" alt=" icon_wink.gif" title="Wink" />

| I'm starting to feel more and more confident about the Cowboys....because of the form of the defence.
Consecutive shutouts to end the regular season were followed by a real stifling of the Eagles - one big play when Jenkins fell down and only one real drive, when the game was already effectively over. The offence is playing ball control and living off the D, but can be explosive if necessary.
