I too wrestled with Kirke instead of Diskin but Diskin has played extremely well since coming back and I don't feel Buderus can or should do the 80. He hasn't in 2 years so why change that now, in such a huge game. Eastwood to be interchange prop with Ali and JJB to share time as 4th prop in the rotation. Ablett is lucky to get back in after his ban but he just offers so, so much more than Kirke.

Buderus and/or Diskin? I bet that's causing a headache for TS, knowing the meticulous way in which he likes to prepare his teams. I think we have to go with both purely because of the change in tempo that alternating them brings.

That would not be good. Leeds look, and play, so much better with him on the field than without him, but if he's not fit, he's not fit. I would have thought if Bluey was confident of getting even 30 minutes out of him he would play, rather than leave us without our two best big-game forwards.

I think the fact that Myler isn't playing I good for us as Monaghan is much more dangerous player at hooker than at SH.

No problem, i like Bailey as a player and its not my opinion he shouldnt have been allowed back. Though your moral high ground is contradicted when Bailey, it can be argued, let the club and supporters down far more than Eastwood, or did you vilify Bailey at that time?

You are picking 2 different events with 7 years between them and linking them as 2 + 2 = 4.

The 17 I have selected are most deserving. They play for us, they do a shift for us, they bleed for us.

That is what motivates me. I have seen enough half-assed players in Leeds shirts over time. Sadly Eastwood falls into this bracket IMO. His PERFORMANCES have not been close to what he is capable of on a week-in-week-out basis.

So on the playing side he's not a shoe-in.

He should count himself lucky though that he will likely be played. Burgess would have got the nod over him if fit.

Look my POV about Eastwood is quite clear.

I don't have an agenda etc, I have just made a decision based on his Leeds career to date.

But I'll go on record here,

I have never booed him or never will. The TEAM will always get my support.

It's pure dissapointment.

When he plays well I call it and when he has a turkey the same goes. Simple.

So out of the squad announced he is the least deserving of a spot IMO. But on the other hand fortune will favour him.

IF Eastwood scores the winning try and will go as crazy as the next Loiner beacuse Leeds will have won. Simple.

I just hope he gets his head down and puts in a shift. A few have requested he keeps the fancy stuff low key. But I would encourage him to look for it, if its on and make sure his execution is spot on. We shouldn't curb our natural game.

How can Ali be left out for this one? Only thing I can think of is Leeds must be looking to rip the ruck apart, ala Semi final style. We cannot be planning on having an expansive attacking style if Ali has been left out. On his day he is lethal when running out wide. Leeds msu be looking for Ablett and Clarkson to be hitting the inside lines.

Like you I think Diskin has looked much sharper since his return ...and now I would find it harder to leave him out than Donald ( I concede Smith has earned his right wing spot - where he always looks most comfortable ).
The first 16 are nailed on (inc Clarkson to start and Ablett on the bench) and it's only the choice for 17th between Diskin and Kirke that is the difficulty. I still believe Kirke is the better option as we are 'light' in the forwards. Buderus can easily be spelled by Sinfield/Burrow.

If what I read elsewhere is true and Ali is def not playing (a big blow for our expansive game) then it looks like it will only be Scotty that misses out.

I hope Eastwood plays like we know he can and does the team proud. Another nice off load for another McGuire 'special' to win the game would be the proverbial icing on the cake.
