There is no issue with smashing dummy runners.

As the RFL disciplinary panel stated last week:

'Player tackles dummy runner, not high or late, entitled to make contact, not dangerous'

I think someone needed to tell Silverwood about it before last Friday's Hull derby though where he seemed to think it was a penalty every time.

tool, he let them mess about and put there hand on the ball in the tackle all game. he penalised that loads of times on thursday. how can you go from one extreme to the other?

we did have a poor second half, but catalans did come out in the 2nd and play better, and we still have quins to play again!

I noticed last season when whenever we won a scrappy game it was mainly down to a poor opposition and IF this or that had happened etc we'd of lost.
I agree mate the 2nd half wasn't brilliant by a long shot but ATEOD we've played away from home in our 2nd game in 4 days and won.
Yes we need to improve they know that but giving up on top 4th when we are 3pts away?

I thought our display at Wigan for 60 minutes was superb, and put the rest down to just tiredness of a shortage of players. Fully understood under the circumstances.

After that performance, I expected us to come out firing against Bradford, not necessarily maintaining it for 80 minutes, but come out firing. We were shocking that first half against Bradford.

Yesterday we did come out firing. And although our goal line defence was really poor, our attacking play was superb. A planned tactic from the coach by the decision he made. He knew we needed to start off better. What happend second half was pish poor. Top clubs build on momentum, not put the "cue in the rack" as Stevo would say. We lost all shape due to changing that initial tactical change.

Catalans were pish poor, really really poor. Don't get fooled by their second half, it was the same team as the first half. You know the same team that got hammered by Huddersfield in the previous game, and had less time to prepare than us for this game.

Your Quins comment is irrelevant, I was talking about the rest of the season, not what went on before. We won't play an easier team than that again this season.

What happened to the Catalans at Huddersfield is irrellevant also mate plus they had 3 of their pack back for our game so not quite the same team plus we had arguably the harder task.
We won a game in a place where we've struggled in the past and played well in the 1st half,now i agree with some of your points about how we went 2nd half and i also agree we need to improve on it but writing us off and not giving the opposition credit and not taking into consideration ALL the circumstances is very blinkered imo mate.

I noticed we played a very odd left side defence late on yesterday. We organised as: Hall, Burrow, Sinfield, Senior. Normally, we would be Hall, Burrow, Senior, Ali/JJB - whoever is left side second row. It's very rare to see Senior (usually L3) and Sinfield (usually R4) in those positions.
Not sure if that was the fix to the problems we were getting on that left side, or the cause of it, because we were still getting beaten down there when we were running that lineup.

I'm not sure what other teams results have to do with it but Huddersfield lost to Salford yesterday.

I think this year everyone could lose a few which may actually make it easier to finish top 4 than it would appear. As Tony S says, we are only 3 points off 4th. It's not going to be easy, but the last three years haven't been easy either.

I saw a performance yesterday that was similar to some of the mid season displays we put in last year. Outstanding in parts and dubious in others. We were not helped by 12 extremely dodgy points being awarded to the opposition (although they did break our tissue paper goaline defence - a goaline defence that was much the same at this point last year as well).
If I was watching this in May or June last year it would be a case of "well we got the 2 points and no obvious injuries".

Delaney, Hall, and JJB looked much improved over the Bulls game and Sinny looked better. Ablett obvioulsy needs to get match fit but it was good to see him out there. We just need a refreshed Peacock back and things may turn the corner.

The reason sinfield left the ball, was the he thought it was clear. On the replays you can see that he checks to see no-one is running for it, and goes to shepherd it out. What he gets done by is that a guy who started off 20m+ away, and from directly behind him doesn't give up.

Still a brainfart, but its not like it was as simple as some I have seen given.

Wigan have shown over the last few years that inspite of starting poorly (sometimes even worse than our current run) you can still make the top 4 or 5 with a decent run of form. Wigan and Warrington (and maybe Saints) are playing so well I can't see us catching them, but 4th is achievable. If not, we'll have to become the first team to win the GF from 8th!!

That's how I saw it. He was exactly behind him - 6" to his right and he'd have seen him. In many respects the poor play is from team mates not calling.

By the tone of your disappointment i thought you'd completely written us off my mistake if that wasn't the intention.
Still though as TS says writing us off for 4th with so many games still to go and the likes of the teams that have beaten us to come round again i think you are very premature in writing us off on the table also.
