Exactly. Why are we so obsessed with questioning every decision. Leeds were awful last night, devoid of shape and ideas. The Bulls weren't that much better but had a spirit that we lacked and that was enough.
As for interpretation holding our game back, have you heard of a game called 'association football'? They seem to be having the same problem, all this interpretation, particularly of offside, has left them languishing as a 'minority sport' for decades now.
Last night we got beat, the world didn't end. We all like a rant at the ground, but having the screen there meant you could see, in most cases, that the ref got it right. Was the block illegal? Probably. Does that mean we should sack the officials? No. Remember Cardiff? It happens. Very easy to call for them to be sacked etc, but who are you going to get to replace them? Any volunteers from this board?
We saw glimpses in the second half last night of what made the Bulls v the Rhinos proper derby games. The atmosphere lifted etc etc. Is 'letting Bradford win' part of some agenda? Get over yourself. The people at RFL HQ have barely been able to run a sport over the years, do you seriously think they could handle a conspiracy?

| I dont buy into blaming certain players. Senior IMO has been playing well this season, but did have a bad game last night. They all did bar two.

Webb was stood in the defensive line, he was as far offside as any attacking player reasonably could be.
This decision was 100% correct and even if on other forgotten occasions tries have been allowed to stand it doesn't alter the fact that Burrow's was correctly ruled out.
Breaks are hard enough to come by these days so what are the chances of one occurring at the precise rare moment that an attacking player is still stood in the defensive line, where that player immediately joins the attacking move and involves himself in a try? That's a lot of ducks needed to line up for that to occur. We probably won't see another one all season but be sure to let me know when it happens.'"

TBH Tad I dont buy into that either.
Look at the pack. JP GB captain. Bailey who held his own. You cant get bigger than Kylie and Luke, who doesn't take a backward step.
Ali who gains lots of metres and Jamie Jones, a GB international.
But they are not in form and didn't run the ball in at all last night.

| My thoughts are while we are obviously not playing well, and having lost out on two trophies already is not the best. I would like to think that we are playing within ourselves so we can peak at the right time, like we did in 2007.
It's a lot better than the alternatives which are play at our best at the beginning and burn ourselves out and crash when it really matters, like we did in 2006. Or their is something seriously wrong with the make-up of the side and we win nothing all year.
I know which I would rather believe for now.

So what if he did, it doesn't make it right does it?
Ellery Hanley last played in this country 14 years ago before he was despatched, with the rest of the convicts, to Australia for standing in the defensive line of opposition teams while on the attack. And not before time.

Again, disagree. See previous post. Good players dont become bad players overnight. They look tired and jaded. That is different to not being good enough.

| We're playing too close to the ruck. Good when it works because you get in the gap behind the markers, but when the timing isn't right it's a pass that is easy to knock on and lets the markers get to the runners right on the gain line.

As is the case with every SL team due to the salary cap.
ATEOTD we have our hands tied because of the whole Eastwood situation. Short of bringing in some of the kids, the only thing we can do is rotate them as to who starts.
I personally think the WC and the extra matches such as the WCC has caught up with them, so maybe the early knocking out of the CC is a blessing in disguise.

IMO the centre position is more of an immediate problem.

Maybe its to leave some leeway in the event that certain practices get caught under the salary cap that hitherto did not?
Also worth noting that not necessarily everything a player earns from the game comes directly from the club and ranks under the cap.

It's quicker than typing "play the ball" and reads better than "PTB"
It's a bit of a trek for me to watch a Tykes game.

I wonder what Red hall's reaction would be if a certain large construction company were to employ say...... about 17 new part time salesmen on 100k a year ....who co-incidentally played a mean game of RL.

Assuming you are alluding to what I think you are, it would breach the cap, because Caddick Construction is connected with Leeds Rhinos in terms of the salary cap rules. The rules were tightened up a lot after the wife-works-in-club-shop-for-a-fortune scandal, I believe.
If, by way of another example, a company seemingly NOT connected happened to acquire the image rights of 17 players, whether or not as a result of that additional income the players felt they did not need such big salaries from the club as might otherwise be the case, then there is every chance that the salary cap auditor would find little to worry him.

I agree.
In every game that I've seen the opposition forwards seem to make more yards per carry from the PTB, particularly in the early stages.
Other than where we have gained ground due to a penalty, 40/20 or opposition mistake we've been kicking from deeper in our own half than our opponents which further amplifies our generally poor kicking game.
Bluey has hinted as much in his comments about our current lack of conditioning due to the short off season for most of our team.
I hope that learning from last season he's planning for us to improve gradually over the whole season.
God knows we'll need to.
We're too reliant on one or two outstanding individuals to make breaks rather than on an overall game plan a la Saints.
Despite playing poorly on Thursday they still had just enough nous & spirit to beat Wigan, by sticking to their accepted style of play.
