I think we tried him in January but he didn`t want to come.
I would imagine he will have better offers at a mid to lower table team in Spain.
I too think it will be Viera which I would not be excited about either.
Simon Jordan big mouth that he is saying he`s heard not too many good things about Viera during his time at Palace.
Go all out and get Potter unless he`s biding his time for a gig mid season at another PL club.

| Viera would be preferable to Parker or Gerrard, but is pretty underwhelming. He's top of the list according to the Guardian

| Yeah good start fixtures wise. I think the run in isn't that good Cov (a) Sunderland (h), Blackburn (h), then Midds (a) QPR (a) Southampton (h). Granted 3 of last 5 are at home but there are a lot of strong champ sides in there. Having said that who knows who will go well...

| Guardian or Telegraph not sure which one were reporting on the Internet late last night that we are set to appoint Viera.
Thought it would be announced this morning.

Graham Smyth saying insiders at Leeds story is different to that and it's still open. However, they need to appoint today imo, i know i keep saying this but we are behind the 8 ball big time. Every day longer this takes is making the new managers job harder. We need to get it right, no doubt about it and shouldn't rush, BUT they have had enough time now. It shouldn't be taking this long. Apparently the 49ers do take their time with coaching appointments, they are well known for it in the NFL and they've been successful with that to be fair but this has to be wrapped up today imo.

| I think now that Radz has stopped leaking news to Romano on social media, and the Italian press, we'll go back to the local journalists (Hay and Smyth) being the reliable sources for information. Been told Farke is first choice, but nothing confirmed yet.

| Hay seems to have good contacts on the inside and he releases info he's known for a while once it is safe to do so. Athletic reporting Villa have Tyler Adams high on their wanted list as do a couple of other prem clubs. This will be a test for the new owners. On the plus side it should ensure we get plenty of money for him but leaves an absolutely huge hole in midfield if he goes.

And that`s the worry.
We were totally defunct of ideas once he got injured and the midfield was completely overrun .
Brighton look like they might want him too.
Without doubt our best midfielder by a country mile although that doesn`t say much I know.
I reckon so far the following will leave
Messlier, Robbles, Koch, Struijk, Firpo, Aaronnsen, Rocca, Sumerville, Rodrigo and Harrison.
With the likes of Adams, Sinesterra, Gnonto 50/50
I`m hoping Bamford goes too.
That`s a hell of a lot of players getting shipped out and only several weeks left to get them plus others replaced.

| Yep. Sure is a worry the longer this drags on.
Id only be gutted to lose Rodrigo, Gnonto and probably Harrison (though if money was ok off he goes)
Theres a massive rebuild needed - Im just hoping we have a decent list with replacements on and we are just waiting for a manager to greenlight them. I know we can add firepower as we go along but theres going to be a very short turnaround with preseason in 2 weeks.

| To be honest, if we can get 25m to 35m for Adams, I'd bite your hand off. Especially if it meant we had more chance of keeping the likes of Gnonto, Summerville and Sinnistera.
If we're moving to a possession based system, them Adams isn't the type of midfielder to build the team around. He's an elite ball winning midfielder, but he's very average on the ball in general.

| Season starts in 6 weeks. There’s not a chance in hell we’ll have our squad sorted by then. I could easily see us starting slowly. We have simply got up keep as many of our better players as possible. Agree with JB on Adams but he does protect the back 4 very well and therefore lets you attack with confidence, it’s a double edged sword. I’d imagine the 49ers would view him as a big asset given he’s capt of USMFT
Apparently the green light on the takeover is imminent and they can’t announce the manager until then… yet more delays!

| The transfer window isn't even open yet. There's a lot going on behind the scenes. I think as soon as the takeover is green lit, and manager is announced we'll start to see a lot moves being made

I agree, if they’re serious about getting straight back up, which I imagine they are, they’ll be lots of wheels in motion
