I think he’s 20, but he’s been on the scene for a while now and when you are young your size is the thing you develop the most, becoming a top prop does normally happen until your late 20’s. I just really don’t want him to waste his size and potential.

| I've heard a few people say things about Jack Walker like - he's not lived up to his potential, Walker, Newman Oledski and Smith are all still very young, I know they've been around the first team squad a while but we still need to give them time to mature and develop, it's very rare in the modern game that a teenager will be almost the complete article, Sam Burgess was but he was a bit of freak and he's ultimately had his career cut short because of how physical he has been and the toll it's taken on his body.

Maybe i dont know enough of Paul Gallen but i see no similarities and their builds are very different. Their stats show that too.

I would have liked to see Loui McConnell get a squad number but I guess you can only keep so many of the juniors.
They must see something in Dan Waite-Pullan to retain him again, hopefully like young JJB who was constantly injured early in his career but came good aged 22/23.

Fair point , same here. My only concern with him would be is he tough enough?

| I'm expecting Oledzki to kick on playing in what look's on paper a much stronger front row.He needs to work on the explosive side of his game and also hit that bit harder in the tackle. He can surely only get better playing along side Ava and Prior.

| Oledzki is about 3-4 inches taller than Gallen, and a stone and a half heavier. IMO he could play that tough yards role that Gallen did for many years, the guy who puts his hand up for the carries others don’t want.
Let’s see what happens to him, but I think he’s got that potential.

| So nothing like Gallens build. If anything id hope for him to be the upright running, awkward to put down front row in the mould of Peackock. Hes not 'nugety'.

He could be special Holroyd. He is massive for his age, but has more to his game than just size. It’s all in his head now, what he wants to do in the game and the sacrifices you must make to cut it at the highest level.
Thing is if he does make the grade we’ll have a job keeping him out of Australia! Can’t win really can you?
I don’t think this squad is good enough for silverware but another year or two and we should be at least back up towards the top, and consistently too.
Re Oledzski, he needs more time but he does need to get more aggression into his game. Will be better coming in as an impact prop among more senior players this year I think. Be interesting to see which props get picked for first team beyond Prior and Ava.

19 man squad with Myler and Crosby to miss out on the 17. Time for Sutcliffe to up his game and make back row his position.

| If you have a hooker on the bench I don't think there's room for a lightweight second row.

| Seems an ideal setup. If Sutcliffe us on the bench as a replacement second row, he also provides cover for several back positions if needed
