Beaten by the better side, we just weren't clinical enough. In hindsight, Leeming should have started, the game was lost in that first half hour.

Despite the loss though, there's so much to build on, we just need to get our recruitment right and get our injured players fit and healthy for next season.

What a platform Rohan Smith has built already. This team is only going on one direction.

Nothing but pride from me... all the odds stacked against them but they gave everything and can walk away with their heads held very high.... zero shame whatsoever in the performance or the result.

But the transformation under smith, both as a team and in individuals like Bentley, gives nothing but optimism.

Saints are good, but the greatest team in the super league era? Do me a favour, they're not even the best Saints team in the SL era. Golden generation by plenty!

I'm not sure they're the best, but they're probably the most efficient. They do the basics at a level most teams can't.

Saints used to be number 2, but the squad that was consistently better than them was managed poorly by a complacent owner. They kept their eyes on the prize and now they are number one and others are playing catch up.

Saints are a long way ahead. We have done well and have developed a great resilience. We need more quality on the pitch next season

Saints will win it again next year, and the year after that, and the year after that. I can tell by their spine, it's not going anywhere, other teams aren't going to magic quality out of nowhere. Super league is f*cked.

What a transformation under Rohan we've had as a club massive wraps to him !!!.Saints started fast in first half caught us napping but once we got into game we matched them very well in first half. Second half was Carbon copy of first we let saints get on top and it was too much for us to claw back in end. We looked far better when Hardaker moved too full back and Myler in Halves and Martin at Centre just think Rohan made them switches too late but probably wouldn't have changed the results. Fair play to Saints 4 years in a row let's see how they cope in 1/2 years time when Makinson, Lomax, Walmsley & Roby are all gone and retired. It comes to all teams like us when we lost our Golden Generation. Speaking of Golden Generations I think we are in the process of seeing our next one !!! The likes of Newman, Handley, Oledzki, Smith, Gannon, O'Connor, Sinfield the core is there and with Rohan in charge now I full believe we will be back at the top end of super league and bringing Silverware back too Headingley. That's 2022 season done already looking forward too 2023 and see what it brings. We'll done Boys to where we was at start of year too where we finished well done!!! MOT ALAW

This Saints team couldn't hold a candle to the Saints side of the late 2010's.

Labouring past a decimated Leeds side 24-12. Yawn.

It’s a joke argument anyway. Context matters. Saints beat a sh*t Salford that couldn’t believe their luck to be in the final, abit like us, got luckier than I’ve ever seen at the end against wigan, Catalans team with no grand final pedigree and then for us see Salford.

My point is it’s not like they’re having to overcome a formidable adversary who’s their match each time. It’s a piece of . It’s not like in football where Man City are winning it each year but they’re setting records and new benchmarks (100+ points etc). It’s almost like musical chairs and it’s fallen that saints are basically the only top team left standing who haven’t been / in disarray. Their fans will think they’re some kind of seminal team

and the record books will show what they’ll show but they won’t be remembered as such because they’re just vanilla, but one that’s better than everyone else who is unflavoured. There’s nothing memorable in a wider context, just an efficient team doing efficient things. And that’s all it takes to win our competition now. That’s my frustration. It’s a levelling down. Best of a bad bunch. I’ll no doubt get slaughtered.
