He's a good player. Best forward on the park when England played Samoa and a lot of Aussies were wondering why he wasn't playing for them. Not sure how solid just following someone on Twitter is though...

Is he replacing the dodgy PA?

| The major signing we need is a decent No2.
Enough of doing things on the cheap, we desperately need new impetus.

i agree he certainly looked very good for samoa and i would be very surprised if we have lured him to sl as he has a very bright future in the nrl
he is a very tough and uncompromising player who would be a massive upgrade on bailey any day even playing with vision in only one eye ![Laughing icon_lol.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_lol.gif)

He'd be an upgrade on Bailey if he also had only one arm and one leg.

| Quote ="Frosties."Leeds players out of contract at end of the season are L Briscoe, Peacock, Leuluai, Yates, Mulhern, Burrow, McGuire.'" So McGuire, Peacock and Leuluai retire, Burrow gets another couple of years with a reduced workload for him and increased workload for Ward, Mulhern and Briscoe have a year to earn a contract.
Sutcliffe steps up in to McGuires role, leaving us at the back end of 2015 looking with a couple of highly rated young props in Mulhern and Baldwinson ready for some games, two experienced props in Cuthbertson and Singleton and the money from Peacock and McGuire and Burrow's reduced contract to bring in a prop and possibly a hooker.
Seems like some pretty good succession planning to me.

Yep, I'm absolutely overawed by such club excellence in regard to succession planning.

| I can see why some are more concerned about 2016 than this year but surely it would have made more sense to get 2/3 more in this year then again for 2016 rather than needing 4or 5 for 2016?

Let's see when the reality of a life outside of rugby suddenly dawns!!
He has been a fantastic player possibly the best in the SL era but I personally would not offer him another year. I think last season showed his effectiveness has diminished significantly a year too far - compared to the other props at Leeds he looked OK but that was because the others were so bad. Compared to the best props in SL he was some way off the pace especially in the second half of the season.
The reason I think he will be offered a new deal is that the recruitment has been so poor. Just having Cutherburtson, Singleton and kids leaves the team very exposed up front. Kylie can't possibly do another year, he struggles to do 10 minutes. Neither Delanney nor JJB are big enough to be props in the modern game so what are your options?

I think Delaney will end up in the front row, he has the frame to bulk up some more

JP's plenty well equipped for a life outside playing rugby.
He's established as a pundit for the BBC. He's also got a successful and highly praised motivational speaking business.
I reckon he'll be fine when his playing career ends.

He is most definitely hanging up his boots at the end of 2015. The body just won't do another season.

Aww man! You got one too?
I was really excited because I thought I had been specially selected by a fellow Jamie to be recipient of a special message. When my voicemail said 'this message is over 3 minutes long' I expected it'd be one of those where the person just hasn't hung up and you can hear background noise.
How surprised I was to find out it was JP! He didn't answer when I asked him how he was, or when I tried to explain that being in the South Stand, it is not possible 'for someone else to take my space if I do not sign up before 6pm on 1st December'.
He is ok enough at talking, but his 'polite chat' and 'listening to the other person' skills need some work!

He's also owns a children's play centre with his wife, so he definitely is preparing for life after he finishes playing.
Certainly appears to have his head screwed on.

| I do think he will retire at the end of the year but I wouldn't be shocked at all if he has a late change of heart (didn't he almost u-turn for England just before the WC?).
Hinges on the recruitment though. I know GH has been knocked on here for not appearing to have looked for replacements in the last few years but I honestly think he is/will be looking heavily into it over the next few months. So I do reckon this time next year we'll have announced a couple of new forwards (of what quality is another matter) and that would leave the door hard to open to Peacock to go around again.
Another potential point is if Leeds don't have a good year (which many are predicting) then McDermott's position will be quite shaky. Given Peacock's good relationship with McDermott and at his age will he want to do one more year under a new coach who might want to usher him on anyways for a new crop?

It all depends on his form mid to late season an old player is always capable of having a great game when we say hes not finished today is he, but I think he will go
