| Who knows. There are some tough decisions to be made.If they get them right then, yes.
The big decision is QB. Its' no secret they tried to get Cutler and then Sanchez. Thankfully, cerrato couldn't pull off either move because Campbell is way better than Cutler and we'd have missed out on orakpo if we'd gotten Sanchez. Next year there won't be a better QB than Campbell either hitting free agency or coming out of the draft. In fact, since the new offensive co-ordinator came in there are few better QB's than Campbell in the league right now! So I hope they do the right thing and retain him rather than drafting a "franchise" QB at the expense of an offensive lineman.
The next issue os the coaching decision. They must get this right. I'd be tempted to retain Zorn on the basis that we also have an experienced offensive coordinator. If they don't, my next choice would be Gruden and then Shannahan. Whoever comes in I hope they leave the defensive coaching staff intact. We have a championship calibre defence already in place already.
Finally, some older players need to be cut adrift. As much as it pains me to say it Portis, his ageing legs and his huge salary need to go, Randle El should be gone and the older, oft injured linemen cut. This should leave us plenty of cap space to rebuild the line. The Skill players are there already; Cooley, Moss, Thomas, Davies - we just need the line.
So, in a long winded way, yes, we can become a force again. In fact, we will have a big say on the playoff picture this year even if we don't make it. Look for us to upset the Giants and Cowboys in our next two games.

From a neutral P.O.V it'd be good to see teams like the Skins,49'ers and the Raiders having a major say again.
Watching the NFL Americas Game series highlights how many great teams these franchises have had and i for one have learnt so much about other teams in the league from them.

The physically easiest, but most cruel position in Football.
A receiver who drops a perfectly thrown pass, a QB who gets intercepted on the last play of the game, an offensive lineman who misses a block leading to a turnover - none of these have their job security or career defined by one mistake per game.
When you're a kicker however, your life and your career is defined more by the ones you miss than the ones you make. Just ask Scott Norwood - who remembers him being the leading scorer of all time for the Bills franchise, overtaking OJ Simpson?

Kicked 18 in a row this year and was having a great season until bad misses cost us wins against Dallas and New orleans.
Now he's on the dole.

His wife?
Its cruel but its part of the job, remember Vanderjagt(sp?) he was and maybe still is one of the most accurate kickers around but because crybaby Peyton Manning didnt like him and he missed an important kick he was booted out of the Colts and then the same happened at the Cowboys IIRC. They replaced him with the legend that is Vinatieri but even he has never been the best long field goal kicker but is obviously THE best clutch kicker, I dont think its long before he will retire now the injuries are coming to him.
I really like our kicker Gostkowski he is very accurate and is reliable when needed, but maybe like Vinatieri he hasnt really had to make 50+ yarders on a regular basis because of Bradys ability to get close to the goal line, I guess only time will tell

I think you should look into the story about vanderjact a little bit more closely. A p[iiss[/ihead with nobody but himself to blame for his career falling apart.

| No doubt Folk will pick up somewhere for next season, if not signed and stashed away this season.
He had a hip injury at the end of last year which affected his off-season training.
Dallas did a medical exam before sacking him, likely with the intention of putting him on IR if the injury was still present.
Suisham has already been at Dallas twice previously.

Madden this year is great, particularly off-line franchise with the changes to progression and draft classes.
