Come on, let's be fair here and break it down.
Bailey did some cheap shots himself and was pulled for them. But there were far more been received by him, and Silverwood just turned away. That is cowardly and poor referreeing. Surely he deserves some protection, just like he is awarding Bailey's opponents.
On his performance. First 35 minutes I thought Bailey run his blood to water, he put in a lot of effort. Second half he made Ian Kirke look like Sam Burgess. He was absolutely shocking, pish poor in the collission, and seemed scared to put any aggression into his runs.

If he wasn't such a little sh*thouse then I would be jealous. There are a number of players in SL that I am jealous of, Tommy Leuluai would be one of them but that little ??? Seriously???
I honestly believe that there is no place in this great sport for the cheating little sh*t. The kids has got a bag of talent and genuine skills but he spoils all of that by trying hoodwink the ref at every opportunity.
If he signed for Leeds I would be genuinely disappointed.

| Let's try and rise above petty name calling.
Last night was the best Leeds game I have seen in some time - the intensity was there from the off to the final whistle. Both sides should take a lot of credit from the game; Leeds for turning round what has been pretty average form into a superb display which shows they can still compete with the top sides and Wigan for coming back from the dead in a brilliant last 15 minutes. Leeds have done this countless times and it should come as no surprise that the champion side were able to do it to us.
Sadly for Leeds the ageing squad was found out as Wigan quickened the PTB and they simply struggled to cope with the pace. On a positive they showed like Warrington did last week that the "impregnable defense" is a myth and had Webb and Senior been able to throw passes backwards the game would have been over as a contest by half time.
Whilst you may not like Tomkins you have to admire the skill that was required for his try if that had been a Leeds player we would have been purring.
On the positives every player gave it everything; Sinfield was superb tonight but Buderus was on another planet - pity we only got see him when he was 3/4 years passed his best. Of the others I thought JJB had his best game in memory, McShane was very as were Ablett and Clarkson.
On the negatives Senior, he is a liability and when a second rower is beating you for pace it is time to hang your boots up. Burrow, what is going on there, his attack has been rubbish for a long time tonight his defense was appalling. His stupid pass that led to the Tomkins try changed the momentum of the game. Huraki needs some tackling practice he is woeful at best incompetent at worst.
Finally on Wigan's cynical approach - it is not to my taste I think the game is tough enough without some of their antics, but maybe that is what the most professional side do and as Warrington showed if you want to stop it you have to give them a taste of their own medicine
Overall an excellent game pity this standard is a rarity rather than the norm in SL.

| Buderus' immediate post match comments summed up the night pretty well.
Just a pity that realising what is happening while you're in the thick of it and being able to do something about it are two different things.
__________
Who was the video ref?
The Webb offside call (for the Sinfield disallowed try in the first half) was probably technically correct but those are always harsh calls to take when not directly effecting the ball receiver.
_________
Sky (most unusual for them) had a bit of a mare with their graphics. Kylie Leuluai stats popping up for Thomas Leuluai and the Sinfield No Try appearing in the final score caption. I'm sure there was another problem but I can't quite bring it to mind.

| a great game and we are nearly there all credit to Wigan and I thought Farrell was outstanding the last 15 minutes as he injected the pace and go forward needed. We got the wrong end of the refs calls but it was "silverwood" no more than I expected. Composure would have seen us home but hey oh would have excepted the point before KO. Well done lads!

You are correct, Bailey was just looking to mix it and not playing good sensible rugby. He has the thinest calves of any forward i have ever seen.

| You have a point on Richards, who is very important to Wigan, but why the need to reduce the gravity of your post with the petty and rather pathetic name calling on the Leeds players. Just makes you look silly.

I'd agree with that, but it sounded on Sky that Silverwood said it was JJB (who I didn't think was offside). Those with better hearing can probably clarify - not that it'll change anything.
If I'd been asked at 8pm if I'd like a draw I'd have snapped hands off. However it does feel like a point dropped rather than a point gained. A significant improvement over what I've seen so far this season from Leeds and perhaps the coach has got something. When we get to something near full strength and can manage the game for 80 mins rather than just 65-70mins it looks like we could still be there abouts at the business end of the season. We now need to see that improvement week on week.

We were nearly beaten not "tonked". I rather think you should be looking at your own teams performance over the last 1/4 rather than ours. As i said 22-22.
BTW. Thanks to all leeds fans for the banter. You are a lot more fun than those Warrington fans...

Of course not, which just highlights the stupidity of the original comment by Smokey. But you can look at his achievements (Richards) for last year to gauge how important he is to the team... Simples

I've checked the recording and Silverwood did say 'Jamie Jones' when asked why it was ruled out - if that was the call from the video ref (Ian Smith?) then it was a poor one, IMO. Both Leeds players closest to Tomkins when the ball came down (Jones-Buchanan and Buderus) were onside at the kick, although granted Webb was well in front of the kicker and within the 10 meters of Tomkins so was technically offside although for mine not interfering with the play.

Yes, A winger would clearly be more integral than the England Captain and the best stand off in the competition.
