Could not stand the bloke.

I know he did lots of good fund raising but I was with my grandma as we were walking past him. She decided she wanted to give him some money. Being a 80yr old pensioner she wasn't rolling in money and gave him the change she had. He threw all the copper coins at her literally saying he didn't want that. Made her upset and alot of self control to just walk away

She's been mentioned a lttle earlier "Woodbine Lizzie",but anyone whow rembers hers must be at least 80 or 90,she was on the go pre war and 1940s.

Yeah I do see where you’re coming from. I sometimes look in the hats where homeless people collect their money and it normally contains a collection of 2ps. But it all adds up at the end of the day and Danny should have never done what he did to your Gran.

I stopped and chatted to a street entertainer playing with a violin in one hand and a devil puppet in the other. It was only the other day and I gave him 10p and he was grateful. I wanted him to go and do his street entertainment next to chritian preachers who I’ve just walked past who were going ‘GOD IS YOUR SAVIOUR’. It totally made my day seeing god and the devil on the street!

There used to be this guy who always rollerskated everywhere backwards around Burley and Hyde Park, I used to always see him going down the hill of Royal Park Road going down from Woodhouse Moor.

There's a guy who I thought had Tourettes who used to walk around campus at Leeds Uni sometimes shouting and swearing at everyone and I've seen him in other parts of town, he's only small but permanently angry and hurls obscenities at everyone he sees. I got to know one of the security guards at Leeds Uni quite well and when I mentioned this guy to him he said he's well known to all the guards and to the police, he's a Falklands vet who saw some brutal stuff and ended up gone in the head, spent the late 80s and early 90s in prison and has been unemployed, friendless and mentally ill ever since. Sad story.

He did exactly the same to me as kid (I was about 8 I think) I went to give him some change he threw it all over the floor and shouted at me for mixing up copper with silver.



He might have raised alot of money and given up alot of his time but there was no need for him to be like that.

I was just about to mention Fat Les, the man with the magic powers.

I can assure you none of these people have got anything on Jeremy up in Whitehaven!

He walks the streets or the trains 24/7 yelling "Yeah yeah, that's right yeah, off back to London now aren't I, gotta see my girlfriend Jill Foley..." Jill Foley is actually his mental health worker.

Other gems of his are "Yeah, I went to school with the Krays, and Hitler didn't I....I went to Wormwood Scrubs for a while too...yeah I'm mental me..."

I really do hope some of you make the journey up there for the friendly in January and get to meet this character!
