Why wouldn’t we play Dwyer just because he’s leaving?

I think it’s important to see what we’ve got in those two. Corey needs the minutes to see if he can stand up to the rigour of SL, O’Connor needs time to hone is craft if that’s going to be his new position. At the time, Dwyer was only getting minimal minutes off the bench or wasn’t even selected on the bench.

Granted the whole position of Smith on this may have changed for the rest of the season with Leemings injury.

I knew they would look at that. He scores a try and steps backwards in his celebration and accidentally catches the ref not knowing he was there. Can't believe it was even considered.

Should be the other way round, ref got in the way and cited for 'assaulting' the player..

much as it would have amused me, Sam Tompkins was cited for touching a touch judge, and he was asking him if he was ok as he thought he was injured, ridiculous.

I see Jake Mamo's had his ban for arguing the toss with Kendall rescinded following a non-frivolous appeal..

Seems you can shout whatever you want at ref if your backs turned to them

Having watched some of Mamo's post match interviews they decided Kendall may well have misunderstood what Mamo was saying.

Notice Dane Gagai got 10 minutes and No suspension for full on fight with Matt Burton at origin. They realise Origin is an intense battle where humans make mistakes. How long would he have been banned for here?! We are a joke……

Gagai would have been out for weeks if that was an NRL game. Brad Fittler was rightly very unhappy with it. It basically says you can do what you want during Origin.

Don't be ridiculous. Rightly or wrongly Origin has always been refereed differently to regular NRL games. It would have keen a send off and lengthy ban had it happened in the NRL too.

I can't know what ban he would have got in the NRL but we can be very certain bans would have been handed out.
The Origin 'no bans, no send offs' policy is puzzling to us outsiders but it's something they have done for a lot of years.

Anyway it’s irrelevant now. The powers that be decided it was worthy of 10 mins in the bin for both players, and that’s it. I for one am ok with that and It didn’t ruin the spectacle for me…..

If I'm reading it correctly, the only players banned from this weekends round are Prior and Russell from Hudds. Given the MRC's decision making across this season so far, I find that quite extraordinary.
