| [list=[/list Quote ="RHINO-MARK"Ok put it this way he was sacked as Head Coach at every Club he held that job.
All of which btw were nowhere near as big as Leeds.
The players may like him but it isnt happening on the pitch so thats a mute point.
If they all "know" why not announce it?
To dismiss any concerns without any evidence to back it up are wishful thinking or just ignoring the obvious mess we are in.'"
Moot not mute, anyway pedantry aside, if they do know but they are currently employed they may have asked for it not to be announced, I’m not dismissing anything I am simply offering an alternative view point, I have no more knowledge than anyone else outside of the club.
We are clearly in a mess that’s obvious it’s just my personal opinion that the club is trying to sort it out and rushing a coaching appointment in now IMO would add to the mess not solve it, the club should be trying to do whatever is right for the club not trying to appease fans

Appease fans?
They are ££££ the Club need to operate & pay off those big shiny new soon to be empty stands.
So yes they do need to appease or better put "reassure" the fan base & especially the big corporate ones its a blip & not a cluster it seems to be.
How long is it since Furner was given the boot? Throw in a couple more weeks before that when it started to turn sour.
That's not rushing anything is it? That should be plenty of time to get the right man/staff in.
Surely you can see the longer this drags the more time it takes to fully stabakise the Club & start that Climb back towards challenging again on a firm footing.

You're assuming all fans feel the same way, personally it's more reassuring to me to hear they are taking the time to get the next appointment correct.
You see it as dragging on, I see it as the club being diligent. we have seen this week that players are happy to sign or extend their deals with the club.

| The only thing that might be going on that we as fans don`t know about is that the coach has been identified and KS is running the recruitment past him before going public.
I just hope KS ego is in the best interest of the club going forward if not.
It must have been one hell of a fallout for Furner and KS to part the way it did considering they were best mates and he was Kev`s first choice.

| Its not clear why they did fall out.. was it just performance of the team? Intriguing...
The time its taking and looks to be a while yet to announce the next coach, to me points to someone in a job currently as head coach..Agar doesnt want the job.. it has to be surely.

Good luck to him.

Probably my fave coach we’ve had, given what we were when he came in. Oh for a 2020 version of Smith.
A real gentleman too, quality bloke.

| Interesting interview with Agar at half time. He's a very intelligent and articulate bloke. According to Agar all the signings mentioned were purely Sinfield's decisions.

Aye. Had plenty to work with though. Not sure he could have got much of a tune out of the group we have had last few seasons

| Agree with others about Tony Smith, best stuff we’ve ever played for mine.
Interesting to see how he goes at Hull KR, they play some decent stuff already, I reckon he’ll get more out of them for rest of the year

If Tony Smith stays at KR next season they will have arguably the best head coach & best head of youth development of the past 1/4 of a century, both ex Leeds #GoldenGeneration
Positive appointments by KR

| I know he has plenty of knockers and says he doesn’t want the job, but after the unbelievable improvement in our defence we should consider Agar.

| I knew it would provoke a response, but I did say “consider”! He’s clearly done something special to improve that defence in the last couple of weeks. Maybe the Watkins decision showed the players they are all on borrowed time, or maybe Agar worked some magic on the training ground. One thing is certain - that defensive improvement was no accident.

| If you look at our points difference we’re tracking well above relegation on that measure.
Agar does need some credit for stepping in like he has. Binding the team after a lot of changes is the right thing to do, and it showed yesterday.
It sounds very much like more players are on their way out; there is hope for next year.
The coach just needs to be the right coach - I know that sounds obvious but if we have to wait for the season end so be it.

| So people are throwing their teddies out of the pram because the club hasn't resricted their search to coaches who are immediately available in the middle of a season.
That makes sense.

No accident, I'll concede. Show that attitude for the next six games and you might have a point. But in my experience teams that can't be ar$ed with the hard stuff tend to revert to type fairly quickly. In any case, hasn't Agar taken pains to distance himself from the role in the long term?

| Mention of Tony Smith reminds me of an abiding memory.....
After Leeds beat Warrington in 2012 Sinfield (who'd had an immense game) was being interviewed on TV. In the background, waiting patiently for some minutes at the tunnel, was Tony Smith - who must have been gutted.
He wasn't queuing to be interviewed. He was waiting to offer his warm congratulations to the man who'd just beaten him.
Something about dignity. A class act.

| All the people praising Smith on here is surprising. They should've been here in 2006, and most of the 2007 season.
