Supposedly back in time to play Friday

One big difference for me this year will be how much more physical we are. All the signings we’ve made are physically strong. I feel like with a solid pre-season behind us we should be significantly up on condition compared to last year.

We do need luck with injuries to props this year but I’m expecting us to be tougher to play against. In fact I can see us putting a couple of big scores on sides.

This is the best squad the Rhinos have had for a number of years. It would be very disappointing if they don't get close to winning the thing. Can Smith get them to play to their potential regularly?

Should be a very enjoyable/positive season

Peter Smith still saying only Gannon and McDonnell (of the first team lads) ruled out. Good to see Momirovski back and training today. Intriguing to see the squad on Weds.

Sounds like Bentley's definitely in, Goudemand and lisone positive, Holroyd touch and go.

Good news. As for Total RL, from now on if they told me what day it is I'd check.

Seen Holroyd training a fair bit in recent footage, but they won’t risk him if not fully fit. We’ll need him this year.

I reckon we’ll be at full strength pretty much, except I’d have McDonnell in. Good luck to Bentley though.

Wouldn`t be surprised to see Leeds win by less than 14.

When are the squads released for the game?

RS on you tube has said that Bentley is definitely fit and apart from Gannon McDonnell everyone else is in with a chance.
If that so we should win by 20.

Agree with others, saints and Wigan look the 2 favourites again with Catalan but all teams bar Wakey and London have made a final since 2017, so if we get things going properly and key men stay fit we should be in with a genuine shout of a final.

Early season results can be unpredictable I think - all teams are confident and at close to full strength, with new players and there are plenty of unknowns.

Salford will be motivated but then so should we be. Think there are six ex-Leeds players in their full squad?

Holroyd, McDonnel and Gannon the absentees. Surprised TNW isnt in the squad.

Looking forward to this new season and seeing how we set up with the new spine. Hoping Akers will put us on the front foot with some fast, accurate distribution and build from there.

Agree I thought he had a good shout of a bench spot

Oledzski, Goudemand, lisone and sangare probably make the four but for me he has earned a place over sangare or at least in the 21. Having said that Ruan may get the nod.

Sangare will be in the 17 almost guaranteed. This will be an intense and physical game and he’s the biggest player at the club.

Disappointed Holroyd hasn’t made it but hopefully he will be fully fit when he does play again. He needed a proper off-season and hasn’t had one again.

Agree Seth, I thought TNW deserved a squad spot at least.
Maybe he`s giving Goudemand a run out after missing the KR game.

Goudemand was very good on Boxing Day and deserves the shirt in my opinion. Think he'll start with Oledzki and Lisone and Sangare will be off the bench. Suspect Donaldson and O'Connor will be the two others if all fit.

I would start Goudemand bench of Sangare Lisone O'Connor .I would select Ruan over Donaldson.

I wouldn't disagree but I suspect as the "senior" player, Donno will get first crack.

Miller, Fus, Newman, Mom, Handley, Croft, Frawley, Mik, Ackers, Lisone, Bentley, Martin, Smith; Sangare, Goudemand, O’Connor, Roberts.

Much has been made of Newman but really interesting to see how Mom and Handley pair up on the left hand side. Mom has pace and a pass on him; could be a good strike partnership those two.
