| Ive been very fortunate since Rob became academy coach to build a good relationship with Rob. We speak after games and chat on twitter from time to time.
I spoke to him on Tuesday and Rob seems fine in himself with the words he used but its obviously devastating for everyone. Ive been numb and heart broken since finding out.
Rob would want us to celebrate the great memories we all have of him.
I remember seeing him make his academy debut at St Helens as a schoolboy and laughing when he came off the bench. I said to Bob Pickles a week later how the new lads looked good but what was that little lad all about? Bob said "he will be the best of the lot". Give over i said hes no chance.
Well shows what I know eh? He was a Champion and still is.
They say never meet your heroes but Rob shows thats complete nonsense.
Lets start telling our stories and memories of Rob to cheer us all up eh? A true legend of our great club.

| Heart breaking news, Robby was my absolute hero, a man of little statue but with a champions heart. I am sure he will fight this disease with the same vigour that he played. Send all my best wishes to his young family

| Just saw the news on Look North together with my wife, both of us speechless and in tears. Have watched the Rhinos for 50 years and never seen a player with a bigger heart. Who can forget his Man of the Match performance at Old Trafford? Best wishes to Rob and the family.

I remember seeing him warm up for his 1st team debut, and thought he was the mascot! Without doubt the best pound for pound player I've ever seen.

| Evening all, just wanted to post a message.
I found the interview tough to watch to say the least. As a player, he was special. I was directly in front of his break in the 2011 Grand Final. Tony Puletua had been blowing and was a little bit slow getting off the line and Burrow absolutely murdered him. Then you think “it’ll be OK because Paul Wellens will have him” and he went round Wello untouched as well. Just had to shake your head in admiration. I also remember his break in the 2015 CCSF at Warrington where he made that break from his own 20 and you scored in the corner. Also thought his performance a couple of years ago at our place where we just edged it at the end was one of the best I’ve seen for a long time as well. Every time he had the ball that night he made a break.
My heart breaks for his family and his young kids. I can’t imagine how hard it must be for them all. Watching him play was an honour. Best wishes Rob.

| Is there a better candidate for a statue at Headingley? This is someone who totally epitomises what the Goldens were about. May be some comfort that his legacy is set to inspire generations of players and fans at the club he gave so much to, and that he will be remembered as he was at the peak of his powers.

.the first game I took our lass to, the first thing she said when the team ran out was “ what’s that ball boy doing running out with the players”
So many great memories of Rob but for pure comedy value....what about his ‘fight’ with Lauaki at Hull away

| Love to see these memories of Rob. When he chinned Lauaki at Hull haha. Keep em coming guys.
I remember a try in the 44-2 win at Headingley v Bradford. Just amazing. Stepped about 5 players and scored under posts at Carnegie Stand end.
Lets keep this as positive as possible.

| My big brother (Mr Southstander) introduced me to RL And the rhinos in 2005. Out of the golden generation Rob is by far my favourite player. I’ve had him as my avatar on here since. Rob is the epitome of RL. Unpredictable, tenacious, inventive, brave, fierce, honourable and lightening fast and off the field just an amazingly humble normal guy. I wish him and his family love and that they use every possible minute of their time to create amazing memories.
I won’t lie. I am in tears writing this. Will be donating to the charity page and waiting for Sir Kev to announce what charity events we can get involved in.

Me too my daughters favourite player we were all blubbing!!
I agree from looking on social media it looks like the game not just the club will be coming together. He was part of a generation that gave us so many good times. Time for us all to pay it back

| So sad this news, I admire great rugby league players & he is one, we were on the receiving end but after all That's rugby league. I do hope the fund for him gets to his family directly as they are going to need it, especially those kids.
I have always come/gone to Leeds on boxing day ( no work commitments ) I would like to see a collection for him with sealed tops for notes to be given & in the program an email address for pledged donations.
Would also like to see the Wetherby Whaler trophy renamed the Rob Burrow trophy similar to the ( Adam Wattene ) trophy we play for against Cas in pre season friendlies, that way their name remains in rugby league.
My heart goes out to Rob & his family.
