With some effort Leeds - are you cannot really knock the commercial efforts at Leeds - couldn't sell out Headingley - are you seriously suggesting that the attraction of Elland Rd will double the crowd - really?

Elland Rd for the most part is similar to Headingley - one new stand and three decrepit sides. It is a disgrace for a club the "supposed" size of Leeds and the embarrassment to the city.

You can knock the commercial efforts of Leeds. They arent brilliant. In fact they arent even to the level of say a decade ago.

The maths changes at Elland Road. Not only do we need less revenue per ticket, but we can also spend more on selling each ticket. Such is the different scale.

I dont think the attraction of Elland Road will attract anyone, its capacity will allow us to attract plenty.

I think the uniqueness of playing there will attract a good few. Playing on the south of the river will also put some off.

Yup I'll go to the two games but a full season there and I wouldn't have got a season ticket. It's a crap ground in totally the wrong location which would be two thirds empty for us. Widnes or Salford there would be horrendous.

In the last 15 years when football clubs have been doing up their grounds or building new ones, Leeds have had far more worries than sprucing up their ground. The disgrace at Leeds United is how far they fell and how poorly run their were, not that some of their stands weren't getting upgraded.

Risdale was out of depth but Bates didn't run the club badly given what he inherited - he just ran it as it should have been run i.e. in a business-like manner, unfortunately that didn't agree with the view of the fans who preferred Risdale's descent into bankruptcy but that's fans for you.

The Italian was just bonkers - the latest Italian seems better but lacks financial muscle.

Now that is hurtful.
