| I Really do think we will be ok next year.
JP and Kyle are going but we have Cuthbertson who has been a revelation, Singleton who will only get better and better. Look beyond that and there is Yates who trys very hard and will get better the longer he stays in a good set up, Mulhern who looks to a beast for his age and Baldwinson who came through our youth set up spent a year in Oz and now is learning in the championship.
We need one good quality prop for nxt year, Rapera (sp) who be a good shot and another seasoned prop maybe from champ just to bring the young ones through.
Props don't peak really until their mid to late 20's, Singo has been the exeption to this rule this year.
On a personal note, While the sleeve was in Oz I hope he took in Brisbane and had a coffee with Sam Thaiday

Gareth do you think his team mates at Barcelona will resent the monies Mesi earns? If the player delivers on the field his team mates dont care. Doubt Greg Inglis or Thurston get much truck from their team mates

They might if he and a few others were getting loyalty payments to stay in Spain from the Spanish FA.
There's also a big difference between a middling Barcelona player who's still getting €100k a week and a middling leeds player who's getting a decent wage.

| If the marquee rule is not agreed to then we must increase the cap, simple as that. It is ludicrous that people argue that the players are getting a fair wage.
When you hear that Christiano Ronaldo earned more last year than the whole of the super league players put together, that is just plain wrong. I am well aware that their is more money in football, but put in terms like that, it is ridiculous. Our sport too has some extremely talented sportsmen.

| Elite players in RL are probably earning about the same as mid-table League One footballers.
It's a vicious circle in some ways. Bigger sports generate more attention, which attracts more people to them and in turn helps them grow and the cycle starts again. It's why minority sports will always struggle to match the profile of football or cricket in this country, and as a result not generate the income to reward their best players.

| We need an established prop to take over Peacock's workload. If we use Singleton or Cuthbertson for that we lose the impact Singleton has currently and Cuthbertson can't do the ball playing/offloading game that makes him so excellent.
Personally I think Mulhern will become a good prop but, like with Singleton, we have to allow him to develop and not throw him in too early.

I have to agree. Its a shame to say that its a handful of clubs that are holding us back in terms of the cap, and they've had enough time to expand their business but now its time to loosen the reigns on the bigger teams that have their houses in order

I'd like to think targets have already been identified and negotiations commenced.
Bit of a long shot, but hopefully the Titans stalling over offering Nate Myles a new deal has popped up on Gawwy's radar.

No a Yorkshire side, which I took as meaning Leeds. In the message it said from Sam to Rapira, now you are an adopted Yorkshire man for next season.

Ah OK. I just had a gander on twitter (not that I use it much) and I noticed a few people mentioning he'd signed for the goons, I couldn't see the tweet you're referring to.
It's a good signing if true, I just hope if he signs he can stay injury free.

| Risking popular wrath we need to be careful with singo and more so with mulhearn and baldwinson.
While singo has had a good three months (yes that's all) he is still young and he needs to keep this up for the rest of this season before we even think about next.
As for the other two, great prospects but that is it. Singo has been a great prospect for three years now and is only just coming through.
Those who think only one new prop is needed and the kids will pick up the slack from two of the best props we've had in the sl era are delusional.

Wasn't just aimed at you Rastrick, a few have said similar.
We have some good and potentially great kids coming through , just look at last night, we just need to be patient and support them. Prop is arguably the most difficult position for a youngster to make a sustained impact at. Just shows what total freaks the Burgess twins are.

| If you take a prop from the Championship, you're in the same position Leeds are in with Yates. They are a project, who are going to take 6-12 months to develop or even longer. Look at Amor, when he first came up to SL looked like a fish out of water.
Besides, are there stand out props in the competition this year who aren't on loan or dual reg from a SL club?

That wasn't aimed at Rapira, it was aimed at Lauaki who plays for Bulls now.

He was one of the best in the world a few years ago, and was a regular in the NZ side, but he's had a lot of injury problems since and he's not quite reached the level of performance in his earlier career. He's only 27 though hopefully he can get back to his best if he signs.

| With Rapira, it's the same as any other Southern Hemisphere guy coming over here.....is he buying into the experience or is he over here for a pay check. For all the praise of Cuthbertson's performances, the key thing is he's really taken to the club, city, country.
