If Briscoe gets the nod ahead of BJB. cant see the point of BJB on bench.

| I agree if Briscoe gets the nod which I'm sure he will then BJB will miss out along with Ward. Not too many choices other than JJB and Kirke aside who could come into the 19 anyway.

| Not surprised that Achurch didn't make the 19 if Ward was in contention. Clarkson deservedly ahead of him from what I saw of both in pre-season games.
With Sutcliffe looking like he could be used in a back row position that leaves Achurch well down the pecking order when all are fit.
Ablett
Delaney
JJB
Clarkson
Ward
Sutcliffe
Bailey/Singleton possibly starting games at loose.

Spot on. As well as being better at reading the kicks, ZH is also more adept at catching them.

Just going by the Coach insisting that he will rotate the back line and given how he utilised his bench v the Broncos albeit during a friendly game.

| The only reason I would put BJB on the bench is if he comes on at fullback and Zak moves in to the halves, however there is no real need for this due to the number of half backs in the team.

| It wouldn't be the first time that McDermott has selected an outside back to under-utilise a bench spot.
Grouping together Jones-Bishop, Watkins, Smith, Keinhorst and Minns it's happened on seventeen occasions from one hundred and six games.

Judging from the recent involvement of that group (or, in some cases, the lack of it) it'd seem to be a tactic McD used more readily early in his tenure than he does now.

Agreed.
Hardaker would be wasted on the wing as that Spanish geezer suggests.
BJB gives me the colly wobbles on defence; Hardaker is the best defensive FB the club has had for a long time complemented by a fair lick of pace and strength in attack. ...
A good enough list of attributes to best fulfill the FB role IMO.
It is a pity about BJB because I think he had a pretty good understanding with Watkins out on the wing: he is a pretty good reserve outer back....if Leeds can keep him sweet.

| Just got back now. Hull KR were poor. Leeds also went through some poor patches, but when it did click, it clicked. Possibly an uneven scoreline, but considering missed kicks, unlikely. We certainly looked under prepared in some moves.
Game hinged on the substitution of Burrow, who was very poor. As soon as he went, things seemed to move very smoothly.
Typical that know nowt Juan Cornetto, calling for BJB to be ahead of Briscoe, and Burrow needing to be on for 80 minutes. Couldn't be any further from the truth.
As expected, Peacock was once again instrumental in our forward play, playing as he did most of last year. The backs, Hardaker, Briscoe, Watkins, Moon, living up to everything they have been labelled, brilliant. Nice to see McGuire back to being instrumental. Aiton could turn out to be a better acquisition than thought. Nothing over special, but was a very key link in the play second half.

So typical of 'thinks he knows everything Gotcha' to get it so totally wrong as usual. My selection was BJB ahead of Hardaker not Briscoe.
Are you saying that all those 2nd half tries by the backs were as a result of Aiton being on and Burrow being off? You know those clean breaks like the one Burrow made for Hardaker.

Where did you hear this from the radio? Mr big supporter.
I said the game changed on the substitution of Burrow and Aiton on the field. The difference was so quick and so different, for the better.
Had that substitution not happened, I am unsure we would have seen what followed.
On that basis, and I doubt I will say it often, well done Mr McDermot, for seeing the need, putting his bias aside, and doing what was right for the team today.

| Our 3/4 line was very impressive in the second half and was good to see Danny Mags back to form.
Bit rusty in the first half and we gave away far too much silly ball. Once we'd settled and stopped knocking on and throwing the ball to one-one/out of play we looked good.
Peacock was immense as always but the hooking role is still an issue for me, someone please correct me but Aiton only seemed to be on for about 20 minutes.
