| Quote ="The Eagle"I want both teams to win/lose for different reasons. I'd love Ratboy's farewell game to end in tears, but then I'd also like to see Briers blubbing too. I would like to see Smith win, but it would also be good to see a major rival with 2 back to back defeats in the GF.
My gut feel is that Wigan will win. they have a great record in finals, and have a very mean defence'"
Got it in one for me!!!! I'm slightly leaning toward wanting Warrington to win this one.... I think if it was us v Wigan in the GF then Tony Smith would prefer us to win. As much as I cant do with Briers whining..... he's a god send almost when compared to Sean "cheapshot" O Loughlin and Ratface Sam Tomkins and weird brother!

| I don't really see what everyone's problem is with O'Loughlin. Aside from looking like Todd Flanders, he's a quality player. Will he be fit to play on Saturday?
I have no special objection to Sam Tomkins either.
Traditionally I haven't been Briers' biggest fan, mostly because he had such a long history of b!tching and bleating to the detriment of actually using his god-given talent when it mattered. He seems to have fixed that under Tony Smith and is finally, belatedly, something like the player he could have been. So again, no real problem with him winning trophies either.
I hope it's a good game, and I hope whoever plays better on the day gets the result. I also hope it's won by good play rather than errors.

| On the upside ...
It would be good to see Tony Smith and Mozza on the winning side.
A winner's ring would also be a good sendoff for Pat Richards, who I think is an admirable player.
On the downside ...
Either ratboy or Briers will get to paw their grubby mitts over the trophy.
On balance, heart definitely says Warrington, head says don't know but hope for a good close game.

| I want warrington to win. If wigan win they'll be on 3 super league titles so will move a step closer to our total. If wire win, yay, they have one, barely makes a dent.
Of course both have plusses for losing. If warrington lose, it's going to be 59 years since the last title and we see a major rival with back to back grand final defeats. If wigan lose we get to seem them lose a major final (doesn't happen often ) and we won't have to put up with their intolerable fans.
It's a shame they can't both lose.
Overall, on the fact they haven't done it in donkeys years, new name on the trophy and the smith connection it's warrington for me.

| In all honesty I don't really care who wins today. But last night I was going through the Grand Final Gold things that Sky Sports did last week and made it to 2005 and without exception all of them were cracking games.
As long as it's not another CC Final like this year it should be a great advert for the sport and the way both Wire and Wigan are playing I don't think I can call this one but if pushed... Wire by 7.

| I'll stick with Wigan to win. The key part is the 10 mins before and after Half-time when Wire make that triple change of the front row, maybe start with O'Loughlin on the bench and bring on his experience at that time.
Joel Monaghan might not get as much joy out of kicks to the corner up against Richards so maybe expect Briers to aim ones 10m in or for the grubbers for Westwood to go for. If I was a Wire fan I'd be worried about Bridge, he for me has the most potential to give away a stupid penalty and momentum (ala Scott Moore in 2011).

Not won a right lot in the last 15 years or so have you?

Do South Sydney fans brag about being the greatest ever team in Australian rugby history? They would be a laughable as someone (probably not even born) cacking on about what their club did 30 years ago in any context. In fact, this is probably more effort than I should have bothered with as it is.'"

| Analysis: tougher side won in the end. More good play-off rugby from Wigan. Worthy champions.
Watche with the sound down. Sky muppets could therefore say what they wanted as far as I was concerned.

| I was neutral until dirty Westwood landed that punch. So after that I was cheering on Wigan and so delighted Green won the MOM award. Wigan were the best team and played the best rugby and nice to see another good British coach with many home produced players defeat an Aussie with a bought in team. Smith was his usual manic, complaining self in the stands and it would have been fun to see if his eye twitching was more than usual in the after match interview, but too embarrassing to wait for. Taxi for Smith?

| Thoroughly enjoyed the expression on the face of ***** as Wane and Harris walked down the steps past him as they headed to the touchline near the end of the game. It just made cheering for Wigan to win that bit more satisfying.
