Obviously gutted we lost but definitely optimistic about the team both sutty and and singo looked good and with mcshane on we looked more structured and enthusiastic singo runs on to ball like he means it. Really don't like to see our forwards take the ball standing still/flat . If we could cut out the silly pens that would be good too.much better from the boys .

Burrow's service from acting half is really poor and causes our attack a lot of its problems. When he steps out of dummy half he looks much better, but his passing off the ground is frankly atrocious at times. That uncertainty of how fast/slow he'll pass, and whether the first receiver will have to pick it off their feet or above their head crushes any attempt at fluid play. I mentioned before that even Thurston looks a shadow of his former self with that kind of service from acting half.

Sutcliffe (like Singleton) deserves a long run in the first 17. McShane deserves a long run as starting no.9

They both did very well but should not be overplayed. Sutcliffe made 30 tackles (+ 6 missed tackles) and may need a bit more recovery time. The coach must pick the 17 players that offer the best chances of a win for each game. The youngsters will keep getting their chances.

I agree......as long as McDermott's favourites remain injured of course.

Well, first thing to say, clearly I wasn't wanting a player to removed from the halves via a broken leg. So whatever I say here I want that to be clear.

However, it does present McD' with an opportunity to move things about without the wrath of the media or players.

For me we should be looking to give Sutcliffe and Burrow a run at 6 and 7, Sinny back at 13 and McShane the full 80 minutes. Most importantly as well we need to give this combination a good month to bed in.

The only worry is that with the other injuries we have we a light in term of creativity coming off the bench and apart from brute force we are going to lack any guile if things aren't going well for the 13 on the pitch.

Yes it is. If he keeps picking the best side to win a game then this also is his best chance of extending his open-ended ccontract

Wrong again - if he picks the most experienced side it cannot be said he didn't pick the strongest side on paper provided by the CEO. That puts the CEO in a difficult position if the strongest side on paper isn't good enough then the blame shifts. The fact that Sutcliffe may be a better option than JJB is irrelevant - if he picks JJB and they lose he has - in theory - used the best players provided by the CEO.

There is not much of a side to pick when 16 of the side pick themselves irregardless of form, or injury come to think of it!!
