| A thread is started by a giants fan expressing concern and asking for news about a injured Leeds player- its turned into a let's call the giants fans names thread. Says it all really.

| Take it everyone missed the screen cap earlier that clearly shows a clash of heads?
LOD sent off for zero reason.
Very glad Kirke is ok, quality player.

It went down-hill and became tit for tat when one poster mentioned LOD's, the Giants fans and mascots reaction whilst Kirke was still very much in a bad way receiving treatment.
It's great that Kirke is well btw and IF the red card was for the "clash of heads" then Red hall should have Alibert and his mates suspended and IF he's to carry on as a SL Official then serious training needs to take place.

| Luke O'Donnell is a very good player.
He's also a horrible, niggly and sometimes downright dirty player.
He's also (after watching the incident back on SL full time) been sent off twice against for doing naff all wrong really

| Thankfully the inept decision (assuming it was for the challenge and nothing else) didn't adversely effect the eventual outcome - thanks to the Leeds no-show. People bemoan the on-report system but nine times out of ten (pure guess) there is no case to answer and it's for that very reason it was first introduced.
__________
Ironically for me, I called for McIlorum's sending off on Friday before the play was stopped and the game brought back. As soon as you saw it was McIlorum moving in for the 'tackle' you knew it was going to be off the ball, high and potentially concussive and he didn't disappoint. Once upon a time that was all John Holmes had to look forward to and put up with every week and often several times a week if facing Saints' Chris Arkwright but those days are thankfully (with the odd exception) consigned to the pages of history.

| Glad to hear he's ok and not badly injured.
As for the sending off i think the officials panicked, thinking kirke was in serious trouble caused by LOD'S forearm/elbow
i hope he gets an apology again like he did previously after a wrongful dismissal against leeds.
But the main thing is that kirke is alright, good news

Out of curiosity, if an incident like that would have happened in an Under 7s or 8s game would you condone a player celebrating his achievement immediately afterwards?
Don't get me wrong, all evidence points to a clash of heads and no wrongdoing on O' Donnell's part, but when a fellow professional is laying on the ground like that I'd expect a player to show a bit more class. As for the mascot doing his fake falling over to impress the kids, very poor also. Hope your Under 7s and 8s don't think thats the way it should be done.

| Couldn't see anything wrong with the tackle at all but might be different on replay
From what I saw LOD was subbed immediately and the officials were more bothered about Kirke at that time, then when Kirke started to get treatment the officials were talking about the incident and called him back onto the field to give him the red card, I didn't see sinfield or any other Leeds player speaking to the ref, the only person doing that was Brough who was not happy at all.

| Independent viewpoint: Legal tackle with unfortunate consequences. He was sent off for the injury, not the tackle.
Glad Kirke's OK

| Could of sworn i saw another offical run on and have a word with Alibert after 7-8 mins of the stoppage, think it was him who got the ref to reverse his decision and not Sinfield. Don't know what he could of seen to do this, especially when it looks a clash of heads on the 2nd viewing but i definatley don't think it was Sinfield who changed the ref's mind.

| Sinfield was constantly at Alibert while Kirke was receiving treatment, obviously no one knows what was said but he kept going back and having a 'word' .....maybe he managed to persuade Alibert it was an illegal challenge i dunno but like John D says he was sent off for the injury - and i think his reputation - rather than the actual tackle!.
Anyway Kirke is ok and has said it was a clash of heads and no need for any of that card business so he obviously saw nothing wrong with it !

Pfft, a true warrior such as Ben Cross, would have taken the next available hit-up.

Ben Cross isn't effected by bangs to head.
Scientific fact.

| Missed it at the time and haven't seen a replay but if Alibert's seen it as an offence worthy of dismissal then that's proof enough for me.
Clearly a perfectly legal tackle.

| It wasn't the first time Alibert has been told to distrust what his own eyes are telling him and accept the view of a lesser official over his own judgement.
He's a pretty good official but allows himself to be swayed by others. He could do with a dose of the John Holdsworths.

| Glad to hear Kirke is OK and I hope he makes a speedy recovery.
Regardless of what us spectators did or didn't see, the ref's handling of the situation was shambolic.

| Don't see the problem with speakIng to the ref as a captin. The main problem I would have is how rubbish is the ref if he pays any attention at all.
